A screening of the first 40 mins of the film at BNAT seems to indicate , to those who saw it, that this film marks the REAL Harrison Ford's return to screen dominance;

But the real excitement comes from seeing Harrison Ford return to form. He’s not phoning it in here, and his character is such a fire-breathing, sawdust-chewing _______, that it’s a thrill to watch. He would be right at home in an episode of DEADWOOD, which is the highest compliment I can pay to anything in the western genre.

But the real story here is Harrison Ford. Let’s face it, we love Harrison Ford, but he hasn’t done anything to the hilt in a long time.

Until now.

Here, Ford is given a meaty, dark role that plays perfectly to his strengths as an actor, while allowing him to continue his graceful slide into the elder statesman style supporting roles that action great Charlton Heston so readily moved into as he aged out of leading man status. Ford delivers with all the grim authority and sardonic derision that he’s been trying to find a place for in recent roles, but found it hard to find a solid footing. Favreau somehow found the primer, and wrested from him his best performance in over a decade – even this early in the film.

If only for this, I cannot wait to see this film.

Now I'm looking forward to this even more!! I loved Deadwood, and if this even remotely gives the vibe set in there, it'll be absolutely awesome!!! :rock :rock :rock

Want to see!

(This is also setting us up for the false alien invasion the NWO has planned.):wink1:

Never really watched Deadwood. I like some of the hardcore westerns -- 3:10 to Yuma (Crowe/Bale) is among my favorites. Looking forward to True Grit and C&A. Still need to see Appaloosa.

Maybe I should give Deadwood a shot. Who's in it?

Good to hear about Ford. He was always my favorite actor growing up, but it's been a little sad to see him in recent things.

Deadwood is great! I admittedly haven't gotten around to seeing the 3rd season, but the first two were amazing. It stars Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane. McShane is phenomenal as Al Swearangen! And actually I thought season two suffered a bit because Swearangen wasn't in it as much and probably why I lost steam and didn't move on to season 3.

But I still recommend it and I'm sure I'll get around to season 3 soon enough.

Deadwood is amazing! It's gritty, it's raw, it's hard, it's realistic. No romanticised cowboy stuff here. I've only seen the series for the first time this last summer. I accidentaly happened upon the first season's rerun and I was instantly hooked. When the network stopped airing after that first season, I immediately got me the complete series boxset. One of the best purchases I made this year!

It's definitely worth checking out :rock :rock :rock

So what? I laughed at the title too. It's cheesy.

But the movie looks like it could be really good.
