The one guy that survived the serum injection from Brother Blood was named as Brother Cyrus...aka Cyrus Gold aka Solomon Grundy. He was the guy with the black mask fighting Ollie this episode.

Ah, I missed the name. While Cyrus isn't a common name, are we sure he is the same Cyrus Gold? Again my memory is fuzzy on a lot of DC history, but wasn't Cyrus Gold a mobster who was betrayed and killed by his gang and his body dumped in a swamp and then he became Solomon Grundy?

You are correct, but it's safe to assume they're taking artistic liberties. In the comics, Slade Wilson was also an American Soldier who was the subject of Government experiments that turned him into a super-soldier who later became a mercenary/assassin, rather than an Australian Operative who, presumably, is injected with some sort of Japanese serum to heal his burn wounds and save his life (though, I haven't seen tonight's episode, yet, so I could be wrong).

I wonder will Barry just be Barry in Arrow till he gets his own show and become the Flash?

Had the slightest worry about Barry Allen but he worked out just fine.

Is there supposed to be another episode tomorrow? I thought I read something about the mid-season finale being a two-parter.

It is my understanding that
Barry will gain his powers next episode. Then flash forward to the pilot where he will get his suit.

Yep. Next week!

Gotta feel for poor Roy though. Used to be an informant for the Vigilante, then he took an arrow to the knee. :monkey2

If DC really want to rival Marvel then they need to do 2 things with the 2nd half of this season's Arrow.

1)
Have Ben Affleck make a cameo appearance as Bruce Wayne, but not Batman, as a rival industrialist from Gotham

and

2)
Have Liam Neeson portray Ra's Al Ghul

Do this and DC will be in the game, not playing catch up :lecture

Was the bald guy that Moira was talking to in her living room (when Thea and Oliver walked in) Ra's AlGhul? Or was it just someone who worked for him?

I assumed it was someone she had hired to get information on Malcolm, and he was just there telling her what he found.

I can't imagine Moira has actually spoke to Ra's Al Ghul or that he's been in her home.

I want to see BatvsSupes fail just to see them forced to put this crew out on the big screen. They're really pulling out all the stops.

The Barry Allen stuff was pretty light and hampered by the fact we didn't get to see him post "particle accelerator accident". Glad Felicity is jonesing for him though as I was halfway worried they were going to force a romance between her and Olliver.

Best part was seeing the missing pieces to Deathstroke's origin come together. It's been awhile since the island scenes were more interesting than the Starling City segments.

Haa, zzzzing! :yess:

I'm staying clear of this thread, but got Arrow S1 and looking to get back on track. I was a big fan of the series in the beginning, but life got in the way. Time to make things right!

This Brother Blood guy's mask totally looks like the Tracker Predator bio mask from Predators.

Holy ****! I can't even express how excited this episode made me. Between the Wonder Woman thing and this episode, this is really, really just making me incredibly stoked for what DC and their various branches have planned. Seriously, though, the first time I heard "Barry's theme," I had chills and a smile firmly planted on my face that never got the chance to leave it, as the entire episode just kept getting better and better.

From Barry describing the Reverse Flash, and Slade being injected with the serum to seeing Brother Blood and Solomon Grundy, it just keeps getting better.

Also, apparently, other people have already thought of it, according to Google, so I can't be the only one, but there's a part of me that would love it if Diggle wound up being John Stewart and/or Green Lantern. He's just such a badass, and it would be a neat twist on/nod to the classic GL/GA team-ups that Adams and O'neil did.

I must say, though, that Arrow kind of makes me wish we got a Green Lantern sequel. For the simple fact that it seems like Berlanti and Guggenheim tend to get off on a bumpy start, but kick it into third gear and blast off once they find their footing. Basically, as shaky as Arrow was in the beginning, and how totally badass it is now, makes me wonder if a GL sequel wouldn't have kicked a tremendous amount of ***.

Pretty solid ratings:

Does The CW have another super-hero hit on its hands?

Wednesday night’s Arrow climbed in the ratings for the eagerly awaited introduction of Barry Allen (Glee‘s Grant Gustin), a character destined to become The Flash. In “The Scientist,” Allen was played as a police forensics assistant with a secret; a charmingly beta-male contrast to alpha-Oliver who rather effortlessly wooed geek-goddess Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

The episode delivered 3.2 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, up a tenth of a point this week in the demo and marking the show’s most-watched episode of the season. Allen is being introduced gradually on Arrow, but The CW is also shooting a stand-alone The Flash pilot episode directed by David Nutter (who directed the pilot for Arrow, and also helmed the Game of Thrones Red Wedding episode).

Will we see the League's Deadly Seven? I thought there might be a chance in some form or another until the last episode.

So Ollie will finally wear his trademark mask, also what the hell happen to Laurel?

She's become increasingly marginalized over the season, going from the second lead to basically a peripheral character. Maybe once they decided not to make her Black Canary, they didn't know where else to take her character? :dunno The popularity of Felicity likely also contributed to cutting down her screentime.
