So when is the Flash pilot suppose to come out? I'm also wondering if the pilot gets picked up will Flash and Arrow cross over to each others show in the future.

I can't wait, apparently they're going to honor the traditional costume fairly closely. Which means hopefully we'll see a kick *** Zoom onscreen someday.

What would be kick *** is if they keep developing this universe is to have like a yearly crossover of all their heros episodes working together (kind of how they do occassionally with the two NCIS franchises) so we'd get an informal Justice league outing every once in awhile.

Can't wait for tonight's episode to see how Barry becomes the Flash!!!!!!!!!!

Dat domino mask! Holy **** at that last 10 mins!!! Best episode yet! That montage was very TDKR! Can't wait for the Flash pilot!!

The way they gave Barry Allen his powers to be The Flash was perfectly done. This was an amazing mid season finale, with so many loose ends and so many ways this show can go.

Plus Eye Patch Slade Wilson FTW

This is now officially my favorite show. Every week it's payoff, after payoff, after payoff, after payoff. These writers know exactly what the audience wants, and they are delivering without fail.

Barry's scene at the end was so ******* perfect! The domino mask! Slade F'ing Wilson!
:panic:

It's 2:31, and I waited until Hulu updated with the episode to watch it. Suffice it to say, I thought I had a smile on my face last week? Breaking Bad may be the best show, but this is fast becoming my favorite. I almost burst out laughing just because I was so damned ecstatic when those credits rolled. I just can barely process what's going on, as a DC fan, this is just...I just can't even believe it. DC better not put any restrictions on this. I want Arrow to have the full extent of the DCU at its disposal because, regardless of how the movies may turn out, this is their ace in the hole. This...THIS **** RIGHT HERE...is how DC beats Marvel.

Seriously, I've never been big on saying "that was a perfect episode," but **** it. That was a perfect episode, and, from here on out, I'm spoiler tagging this **** because I don't anyone who spoils this sheer brilliance for someone needs their IP address tracked and to be punched in the face.

First of all, numbers. So much happened this episode! I just can't even believe it. To anyone who says DC needs several movies to build up a DCU like Marvel's: Bull****. Arrow did it in a matter of 80 minutes between two episodes, and it did so PERFECTLY. I'm just in shock right now, so I'll go through it on a character by character basis.

1. Deathstroke. DEATH ****ING STROKE. The white streaks, the eye patch; I'm not sure I like the whole suit and tie approach, but **** it. HE PUNCHED A HOLE IN A HUMAN BEING. As excited as Slade Wilson's transformation becoming complete made me, it also made me yearn for that inevitable day when he puts on that Orange and Blue mask.

2. Barry Allen. Seriously, I might not seem as ecstatic about this one, but, as a longtime Flash fan, that was utter PERFECTION. I know I'm capitalizing a lot, but, frankly, I don't give a damn because I'm pretty much spouting off the first things that pop into my head because...well, that's how this episode made me feel. Boy, good luck getting any sleep tonight, me. :p

Anyway, suffice it to say, I don't know. Maybe I'm just trying to keep my excitement in check when it comes to The Flash because that was such a massive cliffhanger. I'm not even kidding right now. I'm borderline ready to go into the fetal position in some dark corner and stay there until I hear that Gustin is wearing the suit. That origin, though; absolutely fantastic. It looked like it was straight out of a comic book.

3. Green Arrow. That mask alone. By golly, good gracious, I just want to see some more. This is why I love this show. I bought the Season 1 Blu-Ray the day before Thanksgiving, and I don't even know if I'll be able to watch it again, because, so far, it seems like Season 2 has spoiled me due to its being absolutely phenomenal. That mask, though. Suddenly, we're out of Smallville territory and into full-on Super Hero mode.

4. Solomon Grundy. BORN ON A MONDAY. Honestly, I wasn't too thrilled about the Cyrus Gold thing. I prefer my Grundy a Victoriab Swamp Monster with decaying flesh and the mentality of a four year old. That being said, it was so awesome seeing the reference, and them seeing Gold deformed. With any luck, maybe all of that power jolted him into a "Nicholson in Cuckoo's Nest"-like state where he does nothing but drool and recite his nursery rhyme.

5. ROY. So, does this mean that this universe's Roy Harper will have super strength and such. Regardless, it's definitely exciting to see what becomes of him.

**** just got real!

I'm really, really, really hoping we get his New 52 costume. I just love the fact that all of the gaps glow as he taps into his super-speed and electricity crackles around them; almost like he's wearing a sort of containment suit.

this episode was awesome! jan 15th needs to be here in a ..... FLASH

The CW should cancel everything non-DC except Supernatural. Have a 5-day block with Arrow and Flash on Wednesdays, and launch even more series in the same universe to flesh out the rest of the week.:lol Suffice it to say, yes, I want it to be January 15th very, very badly.

Brilliant post!

I'm still getting goosebumps from remembering Tommy's speech to Oliver.

I loved his speech. It was dramatic and fantastic, and the way it was shot was brilliant. Anyone who loves the DC Universe needs to be watching this show.

I like how they're handling Grundy, the whole density of his tissue and whatnot, but I'd still like to see him go zombified and lose the mask eventually.

Cannot wait to see Slade suited up and kicking ***. I hope that him and Ollie can eventually bury the hatchet (after bonding by brutally pummeling one another) Deathstroke should definitely be in consideration as another spin off series (CW get on it) :clap

Gonna suck waiting til mid January for the next episode. :monkey2

And of course...

But isn't Deathstroke a bad guy? Just like in Smallville for the first few seasons, I wanted them to make Lex a good guy because the way he and Clark was interacting, but you can't fight comic book destiny.

also, since Arrow finally has his mask, I hope in future episodes he gets a better suit. This one is looking kinda ragged with no armory for a billionaire superhero

He just needs a proper stache and long goatee and we have a perfect GA! :lol

Eh, that's one part where I'm fine with them taking some artistic liberties. If that was the case, all I'd see when he was Oliver Queen on the news would be "*********." Longer beard, though, is fine, just not the "Powers Booth in Tombstone Soul patch and handlebar mustache.":lol

They can put GA onscreen with Superman, Batman, etc. ; I like The Arrow and what they've done with him for this series.

Great, great episode. I hope Flash is able to keep the DCtv momentum going.

I keep wondering if Laurel is being saved for a later appearance as a Black Canary II or something. She's got a ton of chemistry with Amell and they really click on screen together. Caity is cute, but she has less going on behind those eyes. It might be a tad unfair of me as she's only been a recent addition to the series but we'll see. If she should go down heroically at some point though, Laurel stepping in would be perfect imo.

That's what I've been thinking is going to happen, as well, and, technically, it would *kind of* follow the comics, as well (except Dinah Laurel Lance would be following in the footsteps of her sister, as Black Canary II, instead of her mother). To be fair, though, that would be pretty awesome if she was actually the Third Black Canary.

I was just thinking, with the way they did the backstory for Deathstroke, we know that the Japanese were developing Super-Soldiers during WWII, and we know that The CW has an Hourman show coming out; how cool would it be if it all tied together, and the JSA was a sort of spec ops group with super-powers that started out during WWII to combat things like "Mirakuru," and Laurel's mother was the first Black Canary. Granted, she's not old enough to be a WWII vet, but what if it was a generational thing? She was the "Black Canary" in the third iteration of it, or something, during, I don't know; Desert Storm? I'm just fantasizing, now, but that would be something pretty damned awesome, if it turned out like that in any way.

Yeah, that would be neat if they could tie it in more to comic book cannon. As it is, they've been pretty slick about putting their own spin on these characters while keeping to a good portion of the spirit in which they were created. I wish Grundy had more of a traditional look and origin but I'm glad he's actually been put on the live-action map.

Like I said, it would be kind of neat if that explosion gave him brain damage (I.e. The only speech he's capable of/the only thing he can remember is the Solomon Grundy poem).
