Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys... She used to have seizures when she was younger, but they went away. These have more intense auras than the previous ones and they really have her freaked out.

This morning was the first one I have ever been around for, and it was horrible.. I will never forget a second of it, it was a little too close to home for me... too similar to how my Mom died. I just froze up afterwards, didn't know what to do.. didn't really talk to anyone for a while after the paramedics took her.

I'll keep you guys informed, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. It really means more than you guys will ever know, my Wife sends her thanks as well. You guys are the best.

That is awful. I hope everything is alright. I hate to see anyone suffer. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That sucks man, hope she pulls through with no more issues.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

It's not fun, I remember over the winter one day my father just got this shooting pain. My dad's one of the old school types who'd cut his hand off with a saw and drive himself to the emergency room to get it fixed, and one day he gets this horrible pain and hobbling around and calling for an ambulance, freaked me out because if something was bad enough to make him get help like that, it had to be really bad. I cowboy'ed up to try and keep my mom calm, but in the back of my head I spent hours wondering if we wouldn't be bringing my dad home. In the end, turned out to be some kind of blood infection that got cleared up and he's been fine since, but that's the scary thing with medical problems, sometimes the syptoms can be very scary for an easily treated problem, and not knowing the problem is the real fear because your mind just assumes the worse, and without knowing anything about anatomy like a doctor, you have little to try and go, "oh well, it could be just this", you don't know what the "just this" scenarios are so you just picture the worst and you know you can't do anything so you're just freaked hoping someone will.

Hopefully it helps having us here, not sure who you've got locally to be around you, but certainly use here as a sounding board just to take your mind away or whatever.

If you need to, feel free to give me a call too.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Best wishes to you and your wife Josh... I'll keep both of you in my thoughts :duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for the messages and the kindness, she finally got some meds, ate and is now passed out on the couch. :lol

She's had a long day, as have I. I probably won't rest really easy until she sees the Dr. this Friday, I just want her to be ok more than anything.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Just caught on to this, Josh

My Prayers and best wishes are with you, my Man.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Something this serious and they can't see her for two more days? Man I hate the health care system.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for all the well wishes, that really means a lot to us both.

And Sean, yeah... it sucks. Freaking Doctors. She had an appointment scheduled for next Friday, and they couldn't give her any sooner, even when we called from the ER. They gave us attitude and we had to hang up on them to save from causing a scene. :banghead

Finally we talked to the Dr. at the ER and he called again to help us get that Friday appt. So at least we got that.

The funny part was, that last night before bed... Therese and I were watching Michael Moore's Sicko on Showtime and commenting on how bad our system is. Only to get to experience it first hand today. Man, I want to move to Canada or Europe. :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Well I can understand a bit scrutinizing everyone complaining of headaches and stuff like that, some people over dramatize the seriousness of their problems, but if someone's having unexplained seizures, to me that's grounds for figure out what's going on and don't sit on it. Government needs to learn that as much as affording health insurance is huge, being able to provide treatment and care in a timely manner is just as important.

I suggest you watch something lighthearted tonight, set yourself up for something good tomorrow, can't go wrong watching Van Wilder :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Dude! Go to Europe! Netherlands! WOOOOOOOH!

PS: I live there for the slow ones among us.

On a more serious note, the health system here is pretty solid, although not perfect.

And sudden seizures are a pretty hefty thing to shake off for two days. Rediculous I say!
Although I have to agree with Maulfan on this, you might want to watch something lighthearted, calm a little down, hard as it may be :(

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, The Wifey and I sat down and watched a few episodes of Angel... that helped. :rock

Tonight I am taking it easy a bit. I have a few things to pack up and finish for shipment this week... but tonight I will just sit back with a calm movie and chill. I have class tomorrow too, which just sucks even more.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks man! Yeah, we are finally watching that show! We've been Buffy fans for the longest but never got to see many episodes of Angel. Right now we are in season 2, mid season. :duff
