Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys! And thanks especially, Les. That Mike too me a long, long time. It's really creepy and freaks me out every time I walk past him in the hall. :lol

I'm thinking of adding eyes, but I really like the black eyes... "the blackest eyes"

Me, too. While digging through the thread I found another great Josh Obi paint job.

Every time I look at this thread I get more and more excited about sending my Anakin sculpt from Darren your way Josh. Hopefully I'll get my TPM Obi sculpt around the same time and send them both.

OOOOHHH I'm all gitty just thinking about it!:D

Yep, that's mine gdb, I think it was the first job Josh did for anyone on the board. The first head he painted, Not his first order. Lots went into that, I was very demanding with him too, wanted shades of reddish blonde, etc. There are about 5 shades of color in that beard... amazingly beautiful.

It's crazy to think how far Josh has come yet he did that first Obi with such skill and heart. I remember when pics of it were posted here and on OSW and it was a major crowd pleaser.

He looks great, pjam! Do you have any assembled pics floating around? His hair is what really does it for me in those pics. Beautiful!!

Sure can!

You can see how the light brings out different colors in his hair in these pics. One late afternoon, the other just at Sunset.

Top left! :devil

And thank you guys so much! Yeah, that Obi was the first.... a labor of love, and a work that changed how I paint things. I was very happy to do that one for Paul, and even happier that he loved it so much. :duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Really liking that Thomas Jane head Josh.

Thanks Les! Yeah... if you can notice... the hair strands on the forehead? That is the DA81 version of a LW classic. The hair strands, unsculpted on the forehead.... really had fun with that, tried my hand at your technique. :lol

Thank you all guys... really makes me feel good to know it's all coming together.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The Anakin and Tom Hanks heads are inspiring! And the Punisher one is great too! I thought that was a pretty underated movie and a lot better than Daredevil and Elektra, which really should've had Frank Miller at their helm. I imagine quite a lot of happy collectors when they get their heads back!

Many thanks to DarkArtist for his amazing job of weathering the jacket, painting the logo on a separate cloth pattern and affixing it and the corduroy trim to the denim jacket!

Thanks Paul!! Yeah, Sarah's jacket was tricky.. but in the end I was almost more proud of it than the entire set I did for you. The corduroy was tricky, as the material wants to fray... but I really think it came out looking fantastic.

And now to see it on the figure, I am very happy with how it turned out. :duff
