Thanks guys, I don't get to come here as much these days, but I still love collecting, and this environment has been the best to keep this hobby alive for me! I just dig getting to hang out and talk toys, but getting such cool feedback on such a personal item is the best. I also have Darren working on caricature style cake-toppers for my wedding in three weeks, so I hope to post a lot of pictures from the big day!
-Chris

P.S. - Ill, My fiance mailed the shield the day after Christmas, so I hope it arrives soon. She's got the insurance and tracking info though...Let me know if you have any questions!

That's the best Christmas story I've heard in a long time, from start to finish. Living far from home for many years, where Christmas isn't a special holiday like it is back home, hearing stories like this one especially brings back fond memories and reminds me of what the spirit of Christmas used to mean to me... the joy that comes from bringing happiness to others! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story, Chris. (and Darren!)

Great story and very cool that you could have such an awesome and personal figure made for your family!

:bow :bow :bow

It was a pleasure to work on that project... and hearing that story just makes the work worthwhile. I'm not sure I'll work on another project as satisfying. AlthoughI'm working on some more things for Seaward that may come close....

Anyway... I've got to run here... trying to get some things finished and posted this week!!! :Rock

look forward to seeing what you're gonna post!!!

That terminator head is awesome!! What glasses are those? Wish I could get one! Great job as always!

Happy New Year, Darren!
Your battle-damaged Terminator head is simply incredible! Please put me on your list of interested parties for both versions of your Terminator heads. Finally, the chance to put together the ultimate versions of this great film character is within view!
I hope you are doing well and that you enjoyed the holidays. I'll be sending you a package soon regarding that project we've discussed. It's quite overdue but I didn't want to lose it in the Christmas post.
I'll be in touch soon.

All the best,
Nick

I'm back!!!!!

.....was that too much? :rotfl:lol:rotfl

Anyway.... I'm VERY happy to say that the commission that has kept me from doing anything else (painting, sculpting, emails, forum posting........... housework?, lol) is now finished.

It was the aforementioned wedding cake topper figures for Seawards' upcoming wedding. And they are now on a plane heading for America. I'll post photos after their big day. They may not be as exciting for some people as say a new Arnie head or something.... but it's understandably important to them, ...and so it's important to me :) I'm sure they'll have a great day :rock

Anyway..... this means that I can now get back on with painting and sculpting!

I'll be taking Saturday and Sunday off to rest finally (I worked through the last few weekends.... been doing pretty much 12/13 hour days 7 days a week to make the deadline), so i'm pretty worn out.... but over the weekend I'll go through my ever growing list of commissions and work out who's next and what to do in what order, and on Monday I'll send out emails/pms to people who's pieces I'll be working on for the following week. This is how I'll be doing it from now on. I'll be trying to fit more into each working week in an attempt to get on top of the waiting list.... so wish me luck.

I'm off to answer some emails now, but you'll see me around here again now, because........

I'm Back!!!

p.s. Cowboy, the glasses on my Arnie are from a CY Girls figure... Ice or somethiing I think it's called. You can't buy them seperately. They're good, but they're nowhere near screen accurate... i'll be making my own soon enough. (and thanks about the CoolToyReview interview)

Great news Darren! I know how you feel bro. It's like having a constant panic attack for a solid month, when it's all over you can hardly remember what it was like to breath normally again. :lol

I'm glad you are back bro, the board missed you. :duff

Darren,

I have a package waiting for me when I get home!!!! I can't wait to see how the cake toppers turn out, and once I get through the wedding this week, I'll post some wedding photos. Long story short, I have an artist friend who drew me and my fiance as sorta chibi-style caricatures for our wedding invitations. Darren has graciously lost hours of sleep and productivity turning these drawings into 3D sculpts of me and my bride to be for our wedding cake! My life has been nothing but chaos this past year, but I can't wait to share photos of our wedding day and the cake toppers with everybody! Wish me luck for Friday!
:chew

Good luck mate! :rock

Can't wait to see your photos from the day. (I took my own of the pieces, but I'm not posting them until after your day... or until you've at least both seen the figures)

I'm sure you'll have the best day ever.... I've been talking to your other half about the possibility of me and Jane meeting up with you both in October when we're over your side of the pond driving through there on our honeymoon (3 week motor home road trip around The States). Would be nice to get to meet up finally.

Anyway... have a GREAT day on Friday!!!! :chew:chew:chew

We'd love to have you both over anytime, the door is always open! Maybe we need to work out some sort of Midwest Freak Fest while you are in town...

The package arrive safely, and I am told that the figures are absolutely fantastic, but to keep the surprise, my family rushed them over to the caterer, so I won't see them until Friday!

Thanks again for all of you hard work on this, I can't wait to see the final result!

I just thought, it might help if people know what I'm working on in any given week (so they know I'm not just sitting around playing Zelda :lol ) so each week I'll post up here what I have on my desk in front of me. I won't include any names, as I've already sent out emails on Monday to those people who's pieces I'm working on.

This week I am painting 6 Anakin heads, sculpting and painting 2 custom heads, and casting 6 Arnie heads (3 painted).

Hopefully I will get all of this finished by the end of Sunday. If not then I'll simply carry across what is left into next week. I'm hoping to make myself get more and more done in each working week, so I can work my way through the waiting list much faster. (I've never been a fast sculptor or painter... it's all about detail with me, but hopefully I can change my working practices to fit more into each day)

Anyway.... back to work
