Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

#812 arrived last week. Some thoughts for seeing this for the first time in-person...
True, the orange-effect is a bit overwrought, especially on the helmet imo, but's it not as distracting as it appears in most photos & isn't the deal-breaker I was worried about earlier.
Pleasant surprise; Even though I like the Shaw and helmeted looks best, the Christensen head is pretty darn good too. Looks fitting when paired side-by-side with the McGregor Obi-Wan head.
The depth and swirl of the cap adds a nice sense of emotion stirring just beneath the surface of Vader's calm facade.
Verdict; Another home-run in the Mythos line, and a truly terrific Vader piece.
Though after acquiring all 5 statues in the last 3 months (and the Shaak Ti PF to boot) it's definitely time to rest the wallet for awhile.
:vader

SO jealous of yours. you got a good one. my vaders right boot is as orange as a dodge challenger. no subtlety. orage all the way up his body. just so deflated about this now. :dunno

Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

just got mine....ugh. the orange is SOOOOO overdone. the helmet is fine. the body is deep dark orange. no way im keeping this mess. the glow should be subtle, not pure deep orange....fools.

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Seriously I think yours is just like what everyone else has. Now that does not mean you are going to like it more. But I think that everyone has the same Orange legs you are talking about. It just does not show up in some photos as much.

Sorry you don't like it. I personally think it's just fine.

Of course I would not have been upset with an all black version either.

Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

I'll post the pics in am. But mine is very dark orange like some I have seen here. Just not my cup o tea. Even my wife was like, what's with all the orange? I don't like it.

Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

Sorry to hear that. I too think there might be a few orangier ones than the norm out there as well. Camera flash notwithstanding, it's tough to tell in pictures though.

This guy's still a really, really good statue, imo. Not ashamed to own him at all even though clearly he's not on the same level as his superstar brothers...

Wow! What a great pic. That detail...wow!

Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

Man... My luck ran out! :(

Got my mythos yesterday. Looked over this awesome statue and found imediately a chip on the glow of the Helmet in hand. :(

I just sent SS a contact (Other) to see about replacement part. I've never done this before and have been collecting from them since 2006. Hopefully this won't turn into a fiasco.

Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

Here are pics of my issues. googley eyes, broken helmet vader, and the glow pics are without a flash, in natural light. my cod piece is mostly orange. its a lot of orange. also, my vader face isnt close to actually looking at the mask, he is about 15 degrees off. really bad. can anyone explain to me how to change the orientation of these pics?

Wow, that really sucks to hear and see. I hate to say it but with Sideshow's recent lack of QC this doesn't even shock me. I hope you are sending it back. But before you send it back what number did you receive? Sideshow has recently been sending out returned products to others as new. This way others can keep a look out to see if they get your numbered statue and see if Sideshow fixes it at all before they get it.

Other then the gooley eye and the broken helmet. Everything else looks fine to me.

Sorry you don't like this piece. More sorry you got bad pieces. But even if there were no broken helmet and googly eyed issues, this is definately not the piece for you.
