Well, I'm 99.99% sure its being used on Maul and all the LSF as thats one of the big selling points. That was how I took what was said to a group of us talking to one of the SS folks looking at these during Preview night.

Did Maul appear to have the new skin?

Would be nice if that's the case! That's a big selling point. After seeing how Hot Toys paints their figures, and the Obi LSF, painted polystone just isn't the same.

Your not going to beat SSC shipping prices especially if you are an International buyer.

$200 cheaper...probably the shipping price. LOL

When I order higher priced Sideshow items, I use a dealer I was clued into, and he does not charge me shipping. The products ship directly from Sideshow to me. I paid $240 for a Jason premium format total, and he is $280 plus shipping direct from Sideshow, so...

Just saying. There will have to be some deals to be found on this. :hi5:

The weird thing is that in the pictures it does not look like it has the new technique. That head looks like it was painted just like any other piece.

There seems to be a clear difference between the proto and what was shown today.

okee: . :D

There is much to admire about this piece particularly the portrait but for me the proportions look wrong and the light sabre is ridiculously out of scale. For the price point which is very fair when compared to CM it should be perfect.

Damn :horror

$2000 is a hell of a lot when looking at the size compared to the apple pic. it'd come up to the middle of my thigh which isn't big enough for that price. you cold get 5 or more Skaar PF's for that price, so it should be 5 times the height of Skaar.

Just a curious question:

Why was everyone up in arms over the 1:6 version's moon boots, but somehow it has escaped notice on the friggin' 1:2 scale statue? :lol

Maul is quite an achievement in terms of the details. it is like nothing i have ever seen from SST. granted, it won't (can't) be for everyone… but for those that want the definitive Maul maquette, this is it.

to keep things in perspective however, the e-fx Darth Vader Legend helmet was half the price of Maul. both great products, but perhaps a little too much "dead air" between their price points?

Maul's 1:6 boots were hard plastic... very rigid... they looked accurate, but didn't allow for articulation.

They are pretty big! :horror

Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon.

Sorry but boot articlaution was never a big deal discussed in the Maul thread back in the day. The whining was all about size. Period. :pfft:

Tempting.... the ultimate 1:2 PF collectable, although not for everyone.
After getting into the 1:2 line I can see the appeal of this size.
I know I will buy the Wolvie and anything Batman related in 1:2 from SS in the future
