And the image I've really been waiting to take, the Sideshow Darth Maul trio, so beautiful, THANK YOU SIDESHOW!!!

I don't know if it varies, but I find the saber to be quite bright on my Maul, it's also all about tricks with the camera, I used my tripod and lit Maul with the room pitch black and had the camera shutter on like 3 seconds, and then I added light to Maul himself by flashing a tiny LED flashlight I have on my keychain at him as the camera took in the light information for the image, a technique I found doing the Endor Troops wallpapers for Sideshow.

I absolutely love this piece, the face is painted with a quality that comes quite close to looking as realistic as the bust does, the sculpted tats are hardly noticeable up close and not at all from distance, it's just amazing.

I agree. This piece really does border on perfect. Even the pose which I wasn't a fan of when it was first shown looks great and gives off a very Maul presence.

Ok why does Sideshow now say this with second chance Maul?

The light-up feature on this item will be able to be operated by battery OR by using the supplied power cord, which is rated for U.S. plugs. International collectors will need to purchase an adapter plug at their local appliance store if they are interested in using the power cord rather than the battery operation. We are happy to provide you with this choice, so you can decide exactly how you want your Maul displayed when it arrives!

Mind you where the hell can I plug mine in at?

Wow Maul Fan, way to live up to your namesake.

:maul :maul Mine is set for delivery tomorrow - I can't wait! :maul :maul

Well here is a funny thing they say that on both regular one the flex pay and no flexpay. On the Exclusive it says Darth Maul's lightsaber blades feature red LED light (battery-powered). The Premium Format Darth Maul figure is the most dynamic and most faithful reproduction of Maul to date - don't miss this chance to get yours! (Batteries not Included).

But I got batteries

He's here.

First shot, Maul in his temp home with some friends.

Not much time to enjoy him yet, I'm only on lunch break, but this thing is fabulous. I'm not too overwhelmed by the size, but with 2 1:1 busts and Maul being a shorter person, this one is the smallest in the line I would guess, and seeing it next to Vader in someone's picture, I'm sure Vader's size would blow me away. Lucked out too, just had to give his arm a good push on and lit up second try, first try I think I didn't pull his sleeve up enough to get it out of the way, and I love that his robes have wiring in the skirt area to shape it, very nice touch.

Nice pics everyone BTW. MaulFan, I spy the Applause Light up Maul there too.....

Can anyone answer the ac plug question?

Between the AC plug notes and the no batteries note when people are getting batteries, I'd say there is a poor communication going on and the web master is getting wrong information to post, the base doesn't even feature anywhere an AC adapter could connect, and I can't see them having one version have the option and another not. I'd say it's a battery operated piece and that's it.

No need for spying, he had to make an appearance, that was my first "high end" Maul piece, my parents got him for me for Christmas, then later I found the Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in that scale for like $10 on clearance at a local comic shop, that was one of the best days for me, I scored so much Ep1 merch on clearance, had the Duel of the Fates display going on my desk for a few years with those, and now it's Maulfest on my bureau. :)

He is here:

I have to admit while I was a bit hesitant in getting this because I have the 1:1 bust, I will now say I don't regret it even one bit. It certainly doesn't hurt to have the AP Sample :monkey5 , but still. Fortunately my saber has absolutely no issues at all, and the paint doesn't seem mangled a bit. There is most certainly NO AC adapter, exclusive, non-exclusive, AP or not; and yes, I suppose that is a bit of a let-down.

I am glad I have this, and the exclusive is actually pretty cool, it even demonstrates how SS CAN incorporate a sand covered base in the PF line --- without using rubber! :emperor

Really nice pictures Matt. Not sure I would want the top of the base signed like that thou.
