Yep, that's how it goes... the price is crazy, but the fun of owning a killer 1:1 bust of one of the greatest movie icons is too much to resist.

Yes. It was hard to resist the power of the dark side, hehe. Now the misery begins in waiting probably 6 months or so for it to arrive... :banghead

I'd be surprised if this doesn't at least get pushed back to Q1. Could be wrong, but seems like all the stuff I really want gets delayed :lol

I love the anakin sculpt, but I'm having issues with the helmet. The mask looks small with a huge dome. This is another reason why I'm gun shy about ordering. Not trying to start anything; something looks off to me.

In reality if I was to ever buy this The mask & dome would remain off to show the portrait,
my only quibble is withe the flare of the dome

AWESOME!!!!

I ordered the Vader bust at BBTS. The good thing here it is BBTS doesn't ask for any deposit. Icruise you did say there were only 4 left?

Anyway this is not only about the deposit for me because I have the $, it is about the statue that might unfortunately change to worse (hope it won't in fact I hope to improve especially the helmet as Gino said), you want to cancel and then you lose the $250. The same if some problems occur in our lives, and if we want to cancel the order, again we lose $250...

But the most important thing for me was outrageous international shipping costs directly with Sideshow - they use stupid FedEx who already managed to damage my 1:6 Vader in customs (FedEx have a customs office in Bucharest, 500 km from my city, and thus the package hasn't been opened in front of me).

Besides HUGE shipping costs I'll have to add 19% VAT tax since I live in EU plus customs charges. So the best option for me is to search online retailers. Mike at Razors (who is top notch) had a big shipping cost too, so the only one left was BBTS. And glad BBTS doesn't have deposit requirements either.

As for the exclusive stand I can live without it since I intend to display Vader with his helmet on. But who knows maybe when people receive their own exclusive Vader busts they could take molds or measurements of the stand and we can have these custom made too...

Just ordered didn't want to at the price but i have yoda maul palpatine so need him really. :lol

On my order is said $29 but just seen from the EU Warehouse, UK Locations - US$89 so not too bad how much would it be for your shipping Jkno?

dunno about you guys but i have to make the deposit with my LCS anyhows. The only difference is the darn shipping costs. :(

So if the flat rate shipping is affordable i'll get the exclusive, it not i'll have to make do with getting a regular from my LCS.

Re: Darth Vader life-size Bust

In ANH and ESB, Vader did not have a cape hook on his armor.
Only the ROTJ armor has it.
It was an improvement made to the costume to keep the cape from choking Prowse.

PS, it doesn't look anything like what is currently on the bust.

.

I love how this guy comes in and lays the smack down, when it comes to accuracy of characters that are pretty much inplanted into our brains from seeing the movies over and over,i mean how hard is it not to see how things can be off these days with Star Wars collectibles?.

This guy knows his Vader(s).

If i had the dough..an ESB 1:1 bust would be definitely what i would want, exactly like Gino showed in the pic.

i guess when it comes to it, i'm just grateful that they are making this at all. I don't think it'll make everyone happy but i don't think any collectible will make everyone happy. I think its helpful to see the positives there are and encourage them to improve rather to sound impossible to please.

The guys over at the 501st are complaining about the innaccurate chest armor...you'd think they'd be the first to notice that it's a cutaway...

this will absolutely be a centerpiece in my collection. as for edition size, I am hoping 250excl / 500reg.

There's something just kinda cheap looking about it. I have forever been spoiled into witnessing the power of fan made Vader costumes in the 501st... :(

No, they don't have a cancellation fee. There are a few items that they do charge non-refundable deposits for like the 1:1 droids. But they clearly say so on the page if that's the case.
