I hate everything. My collection;

I still like the original PF the best even with all its criticisms. It's simple and that's all I want.

I thought SSC did a nice job with their original.. I owned this and it's one of those.. Pics don't do it justice pieces. But it was very nice. Sold it because I thought I would upgrade one day..... Um Nope :(

I own that Vader PF too, one of my first statues. A nice PF, weird sculpted helmet though and the old lightsaber will not be a match for new ones. I like the simple base, the lights on the belt and the mouise droid. And it looks cool next to Obi - I don't own Obi though. It is ANH, so no need for theatrical stances, the duel in ANH was different from other movies.

But is understandable that a new Vader PF should be a huge improvement on a 10 years old collectible. But is it a huge improvement? Nope. It has a better lightsaber, that is for sure (personally I'd totally prefer a Vader without any kind of plastic pole in his hands), the base is more intricate, it might have a slightly better helmet sculpt (still far from perfect as we know we get from SSC) and has a weird pose, much weirder than the old one.

But as someone else said, it will sel since it is Vader. If SSC will release a chubby Mr.Potato-head Vader PF there will be people buying that too.

His arms didn't seem that separate from his body on the concept art we had seen.

The concept art version would have gotten my money. The preview version will not.
Not only are the arms out too wide, his shoulders are square with the steps. This is what throws the pose off from the concept art. In the concept art it appears he is walking down the steps and stops. His weight is on his lead foot and his head and shoulders are turned in a natural way. The preview makes him look to be in a more static pose with his head and shoulders too in line with the steps and looks like a pose and not a natural movement.
This could be how it is photographed/filmed as there is no view from the angle of the concept art so it's possible this could look better than what we've seen so far, but a head turn, at the least, would be required.

While I don't think he looks horrible, I think SS should have stuck with the concept as it flows better. Wasn't going to get it either way, but now it just looks odd where the concept at least looked more natural. Wonder why SS altered it so much.

The prototype looks almost exactly like the concept art, it just needs to be rotated another 25 degrees.

I may be in the minority, but i think this statue absolutely trumps the original PF. With all due respect, the original PF looks like a doll. It's very stiff and quite boring. The new PF has significantly more display presence.

You're a troublemaker. I bet I own more Sideshow stuff than you and your playmate, Epitaph, combined.

Congrats on your extensive collection. Just because you have started collecting before me? WOW. :wave. I love that you come on here and don't even attempt to be amicable with people. Just come in bash and leave. You're a joke and a trouble maker and everyone here knows it but you. Don't kid yourself and seek help.

He's been banned from everywhere over the years. It's only a matter of time before he's off this forum too

Yeah, this preview version, which is ultimately the release version, has an unnatural stance.

I'm not seeing the problem with this piece. I think it looks great. Very menacing and has presence. It will look great in hand I am sure.
