Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Damn that's cold. :lol

Is it? Think of it like this; you know that list you made of all your favorite movies? Die Hard, Raiders, Empire Strikes Back, FOTR, and so on? Then Age of Ultron came out. On opening day did you say, "I think I'll skip this movie and stay home and watch Raiders again." I mean you HAD to know it wasn't going be as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark. But at least AoU was still an unknown so you went and gave it a chance. But then you went and saw it a SECOND time. Now Raiders of the Lost Ark and Age of Ultron were both movies you'd already seen. But did you say, "Okay I've seen them both, I know exactly how good each one is, so I'm only gonna watch Raiders from here on out." Nope! You went and saw AoU again and again because that was just the fun new thing that you were in the mood for.

Well right now I'm more in the mood for Margot Robbie pretending to blow stuff up with her baseball bat while half the team around her dies spectacularly than I am for Cap once again being hunted by SHIELD. :)

Now if Cap was fighting a bunch of Serpent Society dudes that looked like Killer Croc then I'd be sleeping in a tent outside the box office window.

Haven't read any "reactions" here but I'm going to lol if people are ripping on that trailer. It was spectacular. I can only assume that the complaints are coming from the usual suspects.

Oh, I forgot...Clint Eastwood's kid will most likely die along with most of the other military guys...those will be the "red-shirts" of this film :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I was sort of indifferent about it when I watched it last night. Not compelled to comment one way or another....so I guess this post is my reaction.

Just rewatch all the terminators ul be ok lol [emoji28]

You guys are convincing me that this film will have some real stakes. Sweet! Looking forward to this more than Civil War! :rock
Well, within reason. Will Smith and Harley Quinn are in for the long haul. But the comics this is based on worked this way--they would assemble random b-listers for assignments, and various members would die in random situations.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the team kill each other off.

If you're into the animated DC movies, you should check out Arkham Assault, it's my favorite DC animated movie. I have a decent understanding of some of these characters, and the tone that the movie will probably have after watching it.

I actually went in thinking I wouldn't like it because it seemed so dark too me. I love villains, but I'm not the most comfortable with bad guys as protagonists (it's why I can't enjoy films like the Goodfellas). When the film first started, I was pretty uncomfortable, but I decided to push through to see Batman, and I'm glad I did. I ended up liking every member of the Suicide Squad (except those few seconds of Arkham Bane—why Rocksteady, why? :lol)!

I'd second your recommendation! I think this film will be much better though! What were your thoughts on Joker? I love him!

Oh it was always a revolving team? That's good. And no, I would never expect that they'd off Harley or Smith. I'm glad others/most are fair game though.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I wish I could like the **** Squad trailer..... I just can't. I don't even like Harley's voice now and think her portrayal is absolutely awful.

As I said before, my expectations are so far down the toilet for this..... I can't possibly be disappointed when I see it.

I never read the comics, but the concept is so cool! I almost bought one with Poison Ivy on the cover, and now knowing that, it's interesting that she could have been killed off in that book! I was just going to buy it because I saw Deadshot on the cover and wanted to know who he was, but I ended up finding another comic where he was on the cover alone. It was a part # of 4 and it was by Ostrander. I don't know if you know him.

If you don't want to read the comics, watch the Assault on Arkham movie, it's great and it's what I think this movie will be.

I did! :) Thank you for letting me know though! I really liked it! It's not that I don't want to read the comics, I just don't have the time or money to read everything! There's so many awesome comics I want to read!

I guess i'm a bigger Black Panther fan than you are. :lol

I'm only kidding anyways, both look great, 2016 will be a cbm year to remember.
