Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

BTW, any idea who the villain is? You can see him (or his goons) in the subway-station.

Am I the only one that thinks Joker is the villain they are going after? It seems to be like he's held up somewhere and they are going to raid his tower and he has an army of body guards along with some monster creature, the thing in the sub way, by his side. I'll be surprised if it's anything other than that.

The only thing that bummed me out about the trailer is knowing that's it's part of WB's damn "DCCU" which means no one is gonna die. I feel like the movie we're seeing in the trailer would be flat out awesome and the characters could become that much more endearing if we'd get to see these ne'er do wells going out one by one in a blaze of glory at the end. But alas, we won't.

Some will die...Croc, Harley, and Deadshot are safe though.

I'm assuming all villains will die except those and Boomerang ^. I would list names but I don't know who they are! :lol

That and your signature were my favorite parts of the trailer! I LOVE THIS JOKER! I feel bad for dissing it, initially. I guess that's why they make the big bucks!

I can't afford Hot Toys, but I hope Mezco 1:12 and figuarts gets in on these. My only Joker figure is a DC Universe Classic figure and a Kenner BTAS Pogo stick figure. :lol
Yeah, Joker comes off very well in the new trailer. I don't even care about the tattoos and grill anymore.

Why do you think they won't die? I would be shocked, shocked, if Enchantress, Native American, and fire throwing dude made it out. Katana and Croc I give a 30% chance of survival. Flagg I give 50/50. Boomerang has about a 70% chance of living through. Joker, Harley, and Deadshot will survive of course.

I've had the same thought. He's not a member of the squad so it makes sense.

Why do you think they won't die?

Because no one ever really does in this era of six-picture contracts. I hope you guys are right though and they off as many of them as they can. It'll be stupid if in a movie called "Suicide Squad" everybody makes it out.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Just watched the trailer again, this is officially my most anticipated film of the year. I'm even more excited for this than Apocalypse. That trailer had everything I ever needed in it :lol

The whole premise falls apart a bit if there's no legitimate danger of death. I don't think the dude with the ropes makes it out of their first fight scene.

I think Slipknot will be the first to go :lol

I don't think Joker is the main target, but there is some supernatural villain who has an army of monster people...maybe normal people that are now these creatures that the Squad is fighting. I have no idea how the Joker fits in the story, besides the flashback scenes showing Harley's origin. I'm guessing by the end of the film Joker and Harley leave together, and Deadshot survives and manages to escape from Amanda Waller.

You guys are convincing me that this film will have some real stakes. Sweet! Looking forward to this more than Civil War! :rock

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the team kill each other off.

If you're into the animated DC movies, you should check out Arkham Assault, it's my favorite DC animated movie. I have a decent understanding of some of these characters, and the tone that the movie will probably have after watching it.

I would agree if not for the Russo bros.

I recognize that after TWS the Russos can very well come out and just blow us all away again with more Cap awesomeness that puts SS to shame. But until that happens I am looking more forward to seeing those ragtag misfits in action than I am more Cap and Stark.

I think the stakes are huge, which is why they need to make at least one or two characters bad guys with a "good" heart, like Deadshot who just wants to get back to his daughter. If the mission doesn't kill them...Amanda Waller will, which is why they probably don't escape as soon as they are "free." So they have to save the world, survive whatever it is they are fighting, and survive and escape Amanda Waller somehow. Joker might just complicate things.

Damn that's cold. :lol
