Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

The actress playing Enchantress is Cara Delevingne, actually a pretty famous model and was from the movie Paper Towns, kinda surprising to see her like that in SS when you know what she looks like in person.

I don't even know that that means, but you're right, she might be a better choice. I'm not sold on the current Harley. In some scenes, she seems fine, but in other scenes, she doesn't work for me.

:lol I went overboard.

I think she's ok, she fits the role nice and she's a better actress than Cara, but I always thought Cara looked more like Harley, by decimals, but not enough to make me care.

I've never been a big Harley fan. She was fine when she was just a Joker henchman...woman...but once they kind of made her the joker's "girlfriend," I started disliking her. In this film, the actress does a good job in some of the scenes like when she says, "Hello boys!" and when she's on the elevator waving, but that first line about the voices in her head was pretty bad, imo. She's not very funny...or maybe it's the writing. I also have a hard time taking her seriously in this group of special forces and villains with skills and powers...when she's walking around wearing shorts and high heels...I hate that actually.

It just feels stupid, that there's this huge threat and they gather all these soldiers and people with skills and powers to go after it...and somehow Harley is good enough to be in that team...because she's crazy? Meh...I hope the reason she's there is to bait the Joker to go after her or something like that. Amanda Waller always has ulterior motives, so I hope that's the reason for Harley being there.

not because she is good, she is expendable, and probably knowledgeable.

Harley is very resourceful and very smart, she's always among the top members of the team.

I also agree with Prince that that "voices" line wasn't good, but she gets those lines from time to time on all mediums, I just hope we get to see her call Batman Batbrain or something like that.

Looks amazing- how will it do at box office is the question- HUGE sleeper hit or just a wanna be...

i think the problem is that they didnt give her that exaggerated new york kind of accent she always has. her voice needed to be more high pitched too

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

She has a bit of that New York accent, that's enough for me.

But people were expecting the actual cartoon voice or something smh.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I think she's fantastic. Vey much the character and not a carbon copy of BTAS, which would be pointless.

But I guess everyone has their own idea of comic characters. Some people even stand up for that cardboard cutout that played Emma Frost in First Class.

C'est la vie. :)

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Bruce Timm and Paul Dini must be ecstatic right now see how how far the character has come—starting from pretty humble origins on a children's cartoon. I used to listen to a comic book podcast, and I remember them saying that not only she had her own title, but it was the highest selling title at the time!

I absolutely loved every Harley episode from the Animated Series, and I really liked the Assault on Arkham take. I've never heard of the actress until this movie, so I'm looking forward seeing what she does. I think it's a good decision not to do a put on voice because if you don't like it, it might become too distracting. I really can't stand Tara Strong's take in the Arkham games, but like the actress that played her in Assault on Arkham, and love the voice actress who played her in the Animated Series and Asylum. I'm sure many feel different than me, so I'd prefer they'd play it safe and do what their doing. Then again, I loathed the Leto Joker when he was first shown off for being so bizarre, but now I love it, so I don't want to discourage anyone from risks. Nevermind...I'm just spewing babble.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Wow this looks amazing ! All these crazy supernatural elements, the energy, the costumes, some incredible action shots. Not to mention the mystery as to what the plot is going to be. Really think they pulled this one off. I had my doubts about the joker from the first picture, but At this point I'm loving the costume changes for him. As for Harley's voice, I think a thick accent would have been too much but she does seem to playing around with the pitch of her voice at least a little bit. Also for the people saying her jokes are falling flat, I just saw them more as one liners not necessarily lol jokes. I've read quite a bit of the new suicide squad and they definitely have the tone down. Also just started reading justice league dark which is introducing me to enchantress ( and may have a similar plot to the movie according to some people's theories).

Also I didn't even think of the guardians of the galaxy comparison, and I still don't see it. This whole thing is even more incredible knowing that batman is in this universe ( at this rate just cancel bvs)
