Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Having a suit with broad shoulders would be pretty stupid, IMO. It's a reference to a stylistic fad in the mid-80s when that story was written. A modern day Joker wouldn't wear something like this:

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

The description sounds good to me. :huh

If I'm not mistaken, zoot suits had broad, padded shoulders and were born out of the 1940's, not the 1980's. What era did the Joker originate? The 1940s. I dig the description. Bleached clown skin? Check. Crazy suit and style? Check. By the sound of it, they're moving away from the emo, punk, anarchist Joker from 2008 and going back to something classic. Nothing in that description worries me if it's legit, sounds cool as hell.

I've always wanted to see Hugo Strange in a film too, so that's great news. He was the very first Batman villain from the famous rogues gallery, can't wait to see how they handle him.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Now that you mention it, Miller probably was doing that in reference to the earliest Joker incarnations (though I'm pretty sure Zoot suits were worn as far back as the '20s), but it also seemed to be a clear reference to modern styles that, I'm guessing Miller thought could continue on into the future. In any case, it's not a modern style that anyone wears. I guess Joker could just wear whatever he wants, and it doesn't really matter to me what he wears, except that my gut responses is to think of this as a Snyder-ism--focusing so heavily on some superficial aspect of the source material that any other form of relevance isn't really considered. Snyder is obviously infatuated with the Dark Knight Returns, but there are only so many winks and nods that I really want to see in these films.

Anything less than a full-blown Cab Calloway and this movie is gonna blow.:lecture

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

They didn't say anything about a zoot suit, but even Ledger had the shoulder pads, so it's not a big deal. I wouldn't mind a purple zoot suit to be honest.

But since they are going for a DKR look, he might wear a white suit, which is fine with me.

Not confirmed, but does sound cool.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Sounds good, I don't know if that's really supposed to be taken as Joker's voice, but I'm sure he's got the vocal range to cover the giggles and high pitches as well as the lower menacing ones.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Hope that description is legit. Sounds fantastic.

Sure that voice is a hint. Although wishful fanboy thinking on my part. :lol

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Harley Quinn has a few looks throughout the film. Going from traditional with the animated series as a reference to prison attire & in one sequence where they infiltrate a club she wears a dress. Get this, her & Joker's pet Hyena's are in the film briefly. Apparently, Harley with the hyena's are a big motif."

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Surprising they will do the traditional look over any of the Arkham stuff. I can't wait to see how she ends up looking.
