Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Jared Leto's Joker Reportedly Inspired By The Dark Knight Returns | Comicbook.com

Latino Review scoopster Umberto Gonzales reports on Instagram that the Joker in Suicide Squad will be based heavily on the Joker from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. This seems consistent with DC Cinematic Universe's vision of the Batman mythos as a whole, since everything we've seen of Ben Affleck's Batman so far seems to rely pretty heavily on Miller.

Gonzalez also reports that Leto's Joker will be slight, but fit, with bleached – not painted – skin and scars running over his body. There's also a lot of reference to the Joker's past crimes in the film, which include the murder of one of Batman's sidekicks.

Lastly, the reports that one of Batman's oldest enemies, the psychiatrist Hugo Strange, will be appearing in the movie. Strange, a little known villain from the comics who made a bigger splash in the Batman: Arkham City video game, will be shown serving as the Joker's psychiatrist. Whether he gets involved in the Suicide Squad's doings beyond that remains to be seen.

The report also mentions that there will be plenty of interplay between Joker and Harley Quinn for fans to look forward to.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Joker description with the inclusion of Hugo Strange sounds too good to be true.

Wonder if they will stick with it being Damien who Joker killed, or change it to one of his other sidekicks. I hope they don't **** with **** Grayson and have him be the one killed off.

No, but the one you like embed it and you can click on it, can you even do that in here? Let's see...

Nope :lol

Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

Yeah but you can't copy and paste everything from a tweet. I think he meant how do you post a tweet exactly how it appears on Twitter, not just the text

I'm sure they meant it as Todd. So we could probably see a live action ****.

Yeah you are right it has to be Jason and I am assuming they will adapt the death in the family/red hood story lines in to the next batman movie in between the 2 justice League movies as they will have 3 DC movies coming out in one year. They already have released the animated version of it so they just need to adapt it in to a movie.

as much as I hate the direction the DCCU is taking. If it gets to a live-action version of Under the Red Hood I would be super excited to see that. Its only the greatest Batman animated movie ever made :lol :woo

Yeah it was well done as I was not in to DC comics at the time and I did not read it when it came out, but I do recall that it came out during the winter solider marvel run.

I think this will be DC answer to Marvel's Cap2 similar theme only darker as this provides a great counter to batman as this is what would happen if batman went all out and why he has limits.

Yeah I figure that all the DC movies will be based on their recent animation incarnations whether it is justice league war , suicide squad, death of superman, wonder women, green lantern and aquaman. All these serve as first draft adaptations of the comics the stories were pulled from there they will then need to refine them in to a movie adaptation.

Re: DC's Suicide Squad movie

From Latino review

Leto's Joker is most definitely based on THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS version. He's lean & scarred but his suit does have broad shoulders. Joker works out in his cell like an inmate when he is interrogated by Amanda Waller. He's doing hand stand push ups so it makes sense that Jared Leto said he is putting on weight. He's definitely not skinny, but in fact more muscular. He has bleached skin not make up.

#SPOILER -

He's killed one of Batman's sidekicks, there is a lot of references to his past crimes. He kills a lot of people. I'm also told The Joker has a lot of scenes with HUGO STRANGE! He's the psychiatrist at the prison & seems to be a part of the story yet I heard nothing of casting or mention of a single casting choice. Hugo Strange has quite a few interactions with the Joker & Harley Quinn. It's not the regular security. It's internal one on one thing.

According to sources, in the film Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates. Get this, prior to the events in #BatmanvSuperman, THE JOKER is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that's why he's so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all "the supers."
