Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

If it was "****ing great" then it wouldn't be getting destroyed by nearly every critic in the business and most of those same critics were right on point with how I felt about MoS and BvS.

But you're entitled to your own opinion

All the trailers I've seen are cringe worthy, just like the character designs. I'll watch it eventually for free just because I enjoy DC comics but I have zero expectations.

Dude why do any of us even watch movies anymore?, just let the critics watch them for you and tell you how much you like them or dislike them or how good or bad they are. Why stop at movies, why not let food critics tell you what types of food you should like and eat too.

I've been thinking about the soundtrack in the film a bit.
Kehlani's Gangsta song fit perfectly into the scene with Joker and Harley at Ace chemicals. Eminem was questionable in the suit up scene and I think they could have chosen a different song for that moment.

never said that at all, the critics didn't stop me from watching MoS or Bvs but I did end up agreeing with most of the complaints

I even said in my post I would eventually watch SS and that people are entitled to their own opinions

You're putting words in my mouth.

Do u check reviews of toys before buying?
Do u come here to check threads of toys to check what others say about quality?

Do you?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Well, in toy reviews we can see what they're reviewing as they are reviewing it.

For most of everything else we have to take their word for it, and we've seen that their word isn't really worth ****.

But does anyone say that when critics give positive reviews about something they want to like?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

So, the rumor now is that WB scrambled this in a panic to move away from BvS?

Well, if that's true then they had this coming for not sticking to their guns, now I'm worried JL will be a mess with identity crisis.

Well one positive thing is that JL began shooting after both BvS and SS so it could be undertaken with whatever tone they were going for from the get-go and not snipped together. SS wasn't and Wonder Woman was already filming so there is a chance they could tinker with WW too.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

......there were positive early reactions to BvS? I don't remember that. They must have been quite quickly snuffed out :lol
Yeah, tons of them, most of the buzz of early screenings and such was positive, countless tweets and everything.

Even I didn't believe the reception was going to hold up :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I must have tuned out of the thread around then. I go through phases of attention with some threads and if there's too much to catch up on I just skip right to the last page.

IIRC it was like a day or 2 before the RT catastrophe so nobody payed much attention to them.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I remember when BVS came out. First reviews were like, "best superhero movie ever!" "Cannot believe what I just saw!" Then it quickly turned to "This movie is crap! Don't waste your time!"
Suicde Squad was a real shot in the dark that was changed not just because of the BVS reaction but also because of Deadpool. But how often do movies that try and copy other movies ever get it right? CNN, skewered this badly, they're part of time warner too. The acting was plain, will smith basically played himself, and Mark Hamill's Joker was better than Leto. The only real stand out was Harley. Still, I remain optimistic til I see it for myself!

:) yup pretty much. I loved BvS and MoS, could care less what the critics think. Most people loved Deadpool, Civil War, Ultron, GotG, IM3, but personally i didnt like them. BvS and MoS were much more interesting to me, and really loved them. Its just simple, we all have our own opinions. It just doesn't matter what others think, especially critics. Im interested in what my close friends think of movies, we usually see them together and discuss them after. But never ever would i not see a movie based on a critic. I never read that stuff. Same with music. Its like many people go by what Pitchfork thinks. Im like, that is probably the worst place to read about music. Just listen to it for yourself and make your own opinion if you like it or not.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I personally LOVED 1998 godzilla and i loved battlefield earth
I also hate the godfather and i think citizen kane is boring.

Critics are clearly wrong

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I like MOS and BvS very much, and I'm hoping to walk out of Suicide Squad happy.

However, it's hard for me not to imagine if they didn't reboot this entire franchise, and kept the Nolan trilogy and just came out with MOS as their first "universe" movie. then have a gap in time with Bale and Nolan coming back for BvS. I know it's just a dream, but I feel like that should have been the direction to take.

It would have allowed them to have 4 established movies before any shared screen time between heroes, and make it easier for them to establish a shared U.
