wow... he loves everything and almost never hates anything

Well that's not true at all. He gives it a C. Which is middle of the road, or "passing". Still positive.

that's low for him :lol he loves DC and loved BvS. he was one of the few really defending BvS and sticking up for it. he tends to love comic stuff
a C is really low for this kind of movie

Speaking of which, that scene in the trailer, of joker in a tuxedo with the burned face and the grenade in his mouth...not in the film.

In fact that scene of joker in bed with a cellphone, not in the movie. Same goes for the suitcase scene from the behind the scenes footage. And there's more :dunno

What the hell happened to the Joker scenes?? In the test screening, there was a FULL flashback to Joker and Harley having a little "couple fight" with her pointing a gun straight at his head during an argument then him smacking her hard in the face. Basic gist of the scene was Harley was angry at Mistah J leaving her. Joker then explains, quite gleefully/manically of how he wants to "show you where I was born". This leads into ACE Chemicals where they have the "chemical wedding". A TON of Leto's scenes that actually ****ing explained why Harley keeps coming back to him are just shafted. It was quite jarring to watch this final cut with ALL of that missing. Most of all, the important scene with Joker and Harley in the helicopter was butchered to pieces. That could have made for an amazing emotional catharsis for Harley's character but instead is just a side moment. Also cut is the Joker subway scene where he talks to his gang and intimidates them with a Batman story. Oh and the "I can't wait to show you my toys" line from the trailer? From my memory, it's been deleted as well. With all that gone, the Joker is what the Scarecrow was in 'The Dark Knight' and 'Rises'. Glorified freaking cameos. Think about that for a second.

And... why the hell did they change the opening like that? What purpose does it serve to open with Deadshot? Enchantress should have been the one who sets the story up. It made actual sense. With Deadshot, now it's "oh hey there's Will Smith". Also, why cut the whole story of Boomerang coming back to save the Squad after leaving them? That could have been a great theater moment. And now we have a Flash cameo that makes as much sense as the email sequence in BvS.

ffs WB

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I read somewhere the women in the film, minus Amanda Waller, weren't portrayed very well or strong. Anybody have any insight on that?

It seems there's no abusive relationship between Joker and Harley which is good... can someone tell me the extent of that?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I wouldnt say they weren't portrayed very well. I mean Harley was actually really good and a no nonsense kinda girl. Katana was a badass but aside from like a 20 second flashback, we know Jack'**** about her.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Most of scenes with joker has been cringe worthy. Not as bad as lex Luthor was in BvS, but it had similar vibe on me.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I'm not sure I'm going to see this... I might. But while I'm deciding, I'm just going to watch Darwyn Cook's JLU episode Task Force X. My favorite Justice league episode by far. Totally nailed the Suicide Squad perfectly.

His scenes didn't really bother me. Unlike Lexus Luthor, the over the topness can be a part of the character. I actually felt like Leto joker was a mix of the Nicholson and ledger versions.

No abusive relationship is... not good. That pretty much defines their relationship. Joker pining over Harley in this is ridiculous. *sigh*

But, thats why they test-screened it and cut half of Jokers scenes, and ditched that whole angle, even though it was written and shot. That's great film making.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I don't think the people behind the film have the skill to portray an abusive relationship and not have the film appear sexist anyway, so probably best they cut that aspect or face the backlash.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Sigh.... So I guess Fabio was right all along about this movie.

Well they are gonna get the criticism no matter what. Hell it's ALREADY happening with the half-ass emotional abuse **** that's in the film. Why not just go all the way. DC keeps pulling back and it's frustrating from a creative standpoint, because from earlier screenings, they were more on point. It's hard to really like these movies on any kind of level when it's so fondled with. That's just me though I guess.

WB had less to lose with this one, so I'm disappointed they still insisted on changing elements in post production.

Or you could wait to see it for yourself and form your own opinion? :dunno
Not everyone has the same taste. I'm going in with no expectations whatsoever, so hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

There's clearly something going on and I think its the WB side of things. The executives are all sitting around and arguing about the content of these films, they then influence the shoots, editing, rewrites and marketing so that the final products are confusing, underwhelming, sloppily written and poorly cut. That doesn't always make a bad film (a lot of indie films get praised even though they're not perfect either) but such a large production like BvS was originally about Batman vs Superman but later on they added the dawn of justice subtitle because the execs decided they wanted to speed up the JL movies arrival. This meant BvS is the worst comic book movie I've seen this decade (at least) when it had all the talent, money and skilled technical people to make it good. I feel WB are to blame mostly for the DCU being such a cinematic mess. They need to get a small team together of the best DC writers to sit down at a table and not leave until there is a full multiple film plan set in place. Then start again, pace themselves a reap the benefits near the middle than just from the get go.

It's well in motion now. With WW and JL up next the Batman solo movie is the only one that can distance itself from the wider DC Universe. Even if the Joker turns up in that they can still keep it focused on the Batman only story.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Which one? :lol

He hand the hand gestures of Jack Sparrow and the expressions of the Mad Hatter. But when I told my friends they couldn't really see it. :dunno

I really do hope they have an extended cut with some more Joker scenes. Half of the Joker's scenes weren't in the movie.

I loved Joker's chopper entrance to save Harley.
