Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

It is specially bad when u hear reviews talking how there are long action sequences without much dialogue or development.
How the first half is ok but the second act feels like a videogame with one liners and a couple of cut scenes.

BvS had WB in a HUGE panic- gotta believe that story.....too much $$$ at stake and desperation comes in...

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

In early cuts, the movie's opening detailed June Moon's possession by the Enchantress in real time. Reshoots reshuffled the scene to later in the movie in flashback form in favor of a new opening centered on Deadshot.

Another scene cut, Extended Batmobile chase scene with more interaction between Joker and Harley. One of the examples, presented in all trailers, is the Joker punching the roof of his car.
This is cut shorter

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Cut:
Deadshot in his prison cell, watching the rain fall and thinking about his daughter.

El Diablo observing the flame of a lit match, before putting it out due to his vow to no longer use his powers.

I think I'll stick to this!

Lost count how many times I've watched it's!

Great Suicide Squad film.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Saw it last night. I enjoyed it for the most part. It is a MESS narratively, there is not a real story happening. Just a lot of scenes cut together in a disjointed manner. This screams studio interference. But I don't know, I walked out enjoying what I did see. I might be biased too just seeing some of these characters on screen, but I guess what I'm trying to say is don't go in expecting a well told story. More like several cool sequences with good characters shuffled around into a 2 hour movie. That's the best way I can think of to describe it.

Would have liked to have seen more of The Joker, as it stands I can't even say if I liked this version or not. I don't hate him, but Leto did nothing really with the role to make it his own either. I will have to see it a second time to really say for sure but I was waiting for something to really stand out in his performance and nothing did apart from his look.

Early reports indicated more backstory for Killer Croc, revealing that he lived his entire life as a social outcast due to his physical deformities and has convinced himself he is beautiful in his own right. Croc crossed paths with Batman while working as muscle-for-hire for numerous Gotham's crime bosses, while secretly planning to take over one day. There were also scenes displaying his affinity for making sculptures out of discarted materials. Aside from jokes about Croc viewing himself as "beautiful", none of this was retained in the final cut.

>Also deleted was a scene where he becomes sick at the helicopter escort to Midway City, throws up half-digested pieces of goat and then eats them again, disgusting the nearby Navy Seals.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Early interviews reiterated Captain Boomerang's racism and sexism, but the movie is light on examples of such behavior, which have apparently been deleted. Most of them were reportedly directed at Katana, to whom Boomerang is attracted.

Early cuts reportedly included a passing reference to Slipknot being a serial rapist, likely to further paint him as unsympathetic

Cut:
Joker and his men escaping after shooting up a restaurant. Harley, who is already affiliated with the Joker, follows them on a motorcycle and intercepts their car. Joker bangs his head against the glass in frustration.

Cut:
Harley using her baseball bat as a mock gun to play shoot at invisible foes.
