Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yes please do - I'm still hyped. :hi5:

Me too man, and I honestly think it's because of the critical backlash BvS had, it just confirmed that critic's opinions are just that- critics opinions. I walked into that movie thinking "oh great" and walked out with a huge smile on my face.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

It looks like the studio had two versions of the movie.
One version was the director 's gritty darker version

The second version was done with the help of the company that made the trailer with the Queen song.
That version was done with different music and cut faster
With a lighter tone.
The people that did the trailerhelped edit it.

Both versions were tested with audiences and people preferred the crazier light tone version more than the version the director made.

The studio spent millions to make the new version.
Reshoots to make it lighter
They did not go with the directors version.

Looks like the joker scenes were part of the serious version and the studio could not work those scenes into the movie.

Not sure why but it looks like the audience complained about the joker stuff
Or something else happened. Everything changed when the audience saw it and gave feedback

Should have stuck with the directors vision, hopefully we see a directors cut.

Yeah I really enjoyed BvS, I've yet to watch the extended cut but it's on the to-do list.

:peace

I don't know if we'll get one, Ayer has said on record that the theatrical version is his version of the film. :cuckoo:

Makes me want to wait for this to come out on DVD and watch the Directors cut.

Think this will be straight to DVD, and out by Christmas this year??

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Early reports and cast interviews painted a " love triangle" between Deadshot, Harley Quinn and the Joker, but all references to it were deleted to preserve the Harley/Joker relationship. Deadshot and Harley are just friends in the movie.

GotG came was in cinemas at the same time and it came out on Bluray in the first week of December so I guess you're right.

IF this is true WB screwed the pooch to "Marvelize" the movie in my opinion to a severe overreaction to BvS reviews. I think it "feels" true. Can't wait to see it but I'm sure the original version seems far better to my liking. The thing is the lighter, less plot-filled version may score better with "normal" audiences and make it a bigger hit at the box office. Time will tell...

It is specially bad when u hear reviews talking how there are long action sequences without much dialogue or development.
How the first half is ok but the second act feels like a videogame with one liners and a couple of cut scenes.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

New Harley featurette. It contains more Joker footage but I warn you, not a lot more new footage if you watched every trailer and tv-spot:

Concerning the Joker's deleted scenes:

Nah, they have more than one test audience, and not just in California.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

If it's true that WB tried (and failed) to marvelize this movie in a panic over the BvS butchering, then they deserve this for not sticking to their guns and Zapata's quote from Ayer doesn't make much sense.
