Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Every CUT scene sounds FANTASTIC- maybe pushing the film to an R rating and not "family friendly" for WB.... Ughh now I'm getting mad...

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

My local cinema isn't getting this till end of the month. I wonder if I can ask them to get the directors cut??

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Same happened to the Sideshow 1/6 Joker. I got the exclusive version for $100, but now they are worth a bit more.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

U can take the deleted scenes and make a whole new mini movie with them :lol

I hope they atleast come as extras on the bluray so I can edit them into the movie and make a "ultimate cut" myself. If the studio won't make it themselves. I'd be interested in editing a chronological Joker and Harley mini-movie too.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I just can't comprehend how WB/DC can take these iconic characters and turn their film adaptations in to such **** shows when it seems like making something worth watching would be a no-brainer.

That takes real talent, unfortunately it's not a talent they want.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I haven't read through the last several pages of this thread, but here's my 2 cents...

The Good:

The most awesome character in the whole film was Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and she was more of a badass then everyone else put together and I hope they put her in every DC film. Margot looked and acted better than I expected as Harley and had a couple decent moments.

The Bad:

It was awful. Everything about it screamed "Trying Too Hard". There were a few funny moments, but most were already in the trailer so they weren't as funny in the movie as they probably would have been if I hadn't already seen them. Will Smith is Will Smith. Zero acting on his part in this film--he was basically a cross between Will Smith in Men in Black and Will Smith in Bad Boys. Harley was ok half of the time. I liked Margot as Harley but a lot of her lines weren't funny and there are a couple cringeworthy moments. Diablo had a bigger role then I expected, but all the other Suicide Squad members are afterthoughts. They made a big deal about everyone being the "worst of the worst" but didn't deliver on it in any way. They actually went out of their way to put in storylines for a couple characters that showed how they weren't as bad as everyone thought they were. I don't know if there is a bag of dicks big enough for Jared Leto's Joker to eat. Seriously. He did nothing to make me like his Joker--NOTHING. From the way he looks (which everyone already knows I hate) to the way he acted--he was terrible. The ending was a giant CGI ****-fest with a 2-minute slo-mo shot that felt like it was 15 minutes long.

Spoilers:

Katana, Captain Boomerang, and Killer Croc could have not been in the movie and it wouldn't have mattered at all. Katana looked cool but did nothing. Captain Boomerang was a caricature and the trailer basically showed all his bits in the movie. Croc was unintelligible when he spoke and looked like a bobblehead with his shirt off.

Slipknot was the gratuitous "head bomb" casualty.

Diablo was the "bad guy looking for redemption" that delivered one of the cheesiest moments in the film.

Batman was in it for about 30 seconds in a flashback and was still a ****. He confronts Deadshot when his daughter is with him, then basically says he doesn't want to kick his ass with the daughter watching. Well, how about waiting until his ****ing daughter isn't with him in the first place? ****ing stupid.

****ing Will Smith as Deadshot. Eyepiece was on the wrong eye, he wears the mask for about 1 minute, he had the sappy I-love-my-daughter storyline shoved in to show he was an assassin with a heart, he was Will Smith instead of the character--making stupid jokes and wanting the government to do their "white thing" to get his daughter into an ivy league college.

Harley wears her jester costume for about 5 seconds and it looks as stupid as you'd think it should.

I wanted someone--anyone--to shoot Rick Flagg in the face.

The bar scene was so long, cheesy, and boring that I almost yelled at the screen for them to get the **** on with it.

There was actually a point where Will Smith says, "We're some sort of Suicide Squad."

Joker is probably in it for 5-10 minutes. At times Leto was doing a bad Ledger impression. At one point I noticed that he sounded like Richard Nixon. He uses his smiley face tattoos on his hands twice and it was stupid the first time so I don't know why they did it again. Also, Leto has the absolute worst Joker laugh I've ever heard--EVER. I can't imagine watching a Batman film in which he is the main villain.

The villain was the Enchantress and her brother and both were horrible. Enchantress went from looking like a slutty Pig-Pen to a slutty Malificent. Her brother was completely CGI and looked like he belonged in a Thor film. The end fight was a ton of CGI and went on for way too long--long enough for Diablo to have a "I won't let anyone hurt my new family" moment that made me cringe. All of the bad guys the squad fought were some sort of zombie/magic creature things that exploded when shot.

I'm sure I'll think of more stuff but right now I think my brain is trying to block it all out.

Is it true that they chose to use songs for character development , :lol
