Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

That's why I compared it to Downey as Ironman, I think his Tony Stark appeals to the masses as opposed to just making him more serious like the comics. Also, he was in a really good movie which Will Smith didn't have the luxury of.

I thought Will was great and had the script actually let him play more of a villain he would have been perfect. The script was terrible and made everyone on the team way too sympathetic. Harley didn't even seem crazy half of the time, Boomerang wasn't racist, Croc just dropped pointless horrible one liners etc....

:lol :lol :lol

You know the reality now with these big-budget movies is that you have all these silent directors and editors working with the "official" director and editor, look at Rogain One.

Is it even studio interference, they own the ****ing property. :lol

:lol I kinda thought that's what he said but thought I must have misheard it since I was having trouble understanding him anyway. I didn't realize I was right until they showed it at the end.

I loved his frustrated moment of realization before he went into the tank after her. It may not be Joker canon but it felt true to his character if he did develop affection for someone.

This was also my favorite part. He was cold blooded and then realized he might feel a little something for Harley OR that she could be more use to him if he went after her. He fought himself internally for a couple seconds and then jumped in after her.

It would have been cool if they said that Boomerang's pink unicorn was from "Pretty Pretty Pegasus" to link the movie to Teen Titans Go. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

The Deadshot in Arkham Asylum is how Deadshot is in the comics--which is why the Will Smith version bugged me so much. Not that he wasn't funny or anything but he wasn't Deadshot. He was just Will Smith being Will Smith.

Absolutely. I'm a big fan of John Ostrander's Deadshot and that's exactly what I wanted to see in the SS movie. I know some peeps may not know much about the character or may think he's not that important overall but Deadshot was a HUGE character and played a critical part in Ostrander's run on the SS. Getting that character right played a large role in whether or not I was personally going to enjoy the movie. Unfortunately, as soon as I heard Will Smith was cast as Deadshot, I cringed and just knew what was coming....Will Smith being Will Smith in a Deadshot costume. :gah:

That would have been awesome.

And speaking of TTG, it's going to be odd for Justice League Cyborg not to be yelling all the time.

If they make a sequel I want Killer Frost and Deathstroke to be in it. :lecture

I would like to see Deathstroke in SS2 or in the Batman movie.

Deathstroke needs his own solo film where he's a villain, end of story. When uneducated writers try to use him as an "anti-hero" or someone's rogue, it all ends badly. See Identity Crisis where he took on the ****ing Justice League (I mean, Jesus ****, you go from "I'm sooo fast I can **** logic straight in the buttocks" Wally to "oh jeez, I guess that sword is pretty long"), the New Suicide Squad where he was a backstabbing SOB (totally against his character), the dreadful Nu52 vol and the so-so but ultimately boring DCYOU! Vol. Not to mention all the times he's appeared as a "Batman Villain" in various media, to the point where people think he belongs to Bruce's gallery.

So, no, **** no to either a Suicide Squad version of Slade, which is most probably going to be a 30 something hunk like the awful Tony S. Daniel series, or in just an antagonistic role in a Battfleck film, where he'll be nothing more than a "cool assassin" akin to Arkham Origins/Knight.

The only way Deathstroke works, is if you give him his own R-Rated flick where he doesn't save the world or is on the side of the good guys, but where he completes his mission no matter what. Add an angle based on his family and honour, which always play a role in his story, and you're set. I don't need softy anti-hero hunk Slade. The MCU already ruined Nick Fury, I don't want the DCEU to **** up Slade even more...

I bet they'll work in a boo ya or two. :lol

Damn, now I'm imagining a live-action Teen Titans movie. Blake Lively Starfire, Jessica Jones chick as Raven, etc. :drool
