Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Now that Toxic is being thrown around...well...that changes things.

Toxic is my favorite shlock comedy from my youth, it also helps that I have a personal connection to it.

Now we're talking.

To you. I really enjoyed it and want to see it again.

Thats whats confusing me here, I have no problem with those who enjoyed this movie, or were entertained by it, but can you honestly say this was a good movie? It has the same problems as Fantastic Four where you can see it was obviously tampered with and re edited by someone other than David Ayer.

Nah because unlike ****astic Four, it didn’t wait til the last 10 minutes to show action. :lol

And you know what, that was probably the worst part of Fantastic Four. This movie is kind of proving the whole just add fun to it formula and people will eat it up. I even see the consensus here that its better than BvS and thats just insane.

It sucks it wasn't edited well but I don't feel it was bad enough to hate the film or not enjoy it.

Not just a good movie but a perfect 10/10, especially with regard to the editing and it just having a tight and uniform structure from beginning to end. You could totally tell that this was the story they wanted to tell from Day 1 and that nothing was left on the cutting room floor.

But its more than just bad editing, 90% are just thrown in there without any real motivation, the whole concept of the team makes absolutely no sense, characters are way too inconsistent, the movie doesn’t fit in at all within the Snyder-verse and already causes plot holes because of that, numerous plot holes, horrid villain etc…

This movie is truly a bad movie in almost every way. I can’t help but feel if the movie had the same problems but had a darker tone (probably would have benefited from) people would be treating just as bad as BvS.

You're shocked? Imagine how WB must feel? They probably don't even know what to make of it and what to do with the other films :lol

Their late game tonal shift seems to have worked, at least on SSF did. This really is proof that as long as just interject some fun into your film, the comic book crowd will eat it up.

pturrle wants sad movies to make a lot of money :(

I don’t care about the money, I actually hope this does well so we can hopefully get a sequel thats good. This franchise has tons of potential and great actors already contracted to return.

So if you understand, how can you be defending this?

To me none of that was an issue to me and it was just the editing.

It's simple. Vintage Will Smith + cheesy jokes + DC villains + Batman cameo + cool music = :yess:

Wait, so you’re telling me that it made sense for Waller to construct her own private team of criminals just in case the next Superman is bad, and it make sense with the team she picked? Enchantress’ entire role wasn’t a plot hole? You didn’t think the fact that Enchantress decided to have a knife/karate fight with the squad at the end wasn’t on par with Doom not using his brain exploding powers on the F4? Are you really telling me characters like Diablo, Croc, Boomerang, and Katana were fleshed out? Or that turning Joker into a plot device for Harley was okay? I mean theres so many more problems with this movie, most of it is the horrible editing but there is so many problems with this movie from beginning to end.
