Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Those things were zombies.......I'll keep my Walking Dead variety thank you very much. What is their power or whatnot?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Ahhhh...beyond being a city full of them didn't feel anyone was in peril. Their heads just big old bubbles...

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Just read all the supposed deleted scenes, really think leaving out the croc puking scene was a huge mistake. That would have been hilarious. Also would've like the joker grenade scene but I equally enjoy his final scene with Harley so Idk. Also while reading all of these deleted scenes I cant find anything about katanas eyes becoming black in the trailers.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Domesticated Joker who can't find his socks without Harley is the last thing I want to see. I get some people grew up with that cartoon and it's their favorite version of those characters, but that's the same Joker who was a coward...a complete coward from the Joker's Favor episode. I liked the show as a kid, but it's far from what I consider definitive.

That's not at all what I'm talking about. I'm asking a little more in depth thinking. I grew up with them as a kid and had a blast, watching them at an older age and it carries a different meaning. Never cared for Freeze, but his origin is one of my all time favorite.

I'm not saying he was all asking for help to his socks and ****, but rather he has some form of dependency on Harley, whether he admits it or not. And Harley is seen as someone that loves him, because she sees something no one else did. Whether it was from manipulation during therapy, but she always goes back to him. We forget that she's in Belle Reve because Joker bailed on her. You don't think she's hurt by that? How she was hesitant to put on the choker? How she rather look sexy for him than wearing the pajamas? Joker has most of his fun against Batman with her, I can understand why he goes all crazy in the room with the knives.

Joker has always been elusive, not someone to go 1v1 against the Bat. Ledger twisted it in a way to show that nothing can get to him, but you didn't see him try to fight back in the prison. He already knew he was gonna escape. He fights Bale in the abandoned building, because he's unpredictable.

For me the mannerism, his speech, gang leadership from TAS is what I take from. Not the looks, or his adventures. That is what Joker does and he's always done it.

Plus we need to take it easy as we've never seen a Harley and Joker in live action. This all takes time to build together.

a fantastic interview with Leto, sounds like he knew stuff was cut before the film, but also describes jokers story in the script as a "parallel story about joker rescuing harley."

he also gives respects to other jokers, sounds like he did his homework.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

So I don't know what the general consensus is of this film here on the freaks board as I have not visited this thread that much.... I really was not all that excited for the film.

Saw it tonight and enjoyed it very much... The Ghostbusters ending was a bit dumb as it went on too long (I also hate the actress who played the witch.. Pluck those eyebrows woman) but I enjoyed all the other characters.

I thought Joker was great.... Did not mind this version of him at all. Would say he is second after Heath. Will Smith was MUCH better then I thought he was going to be (not a fan) he played it much more serious and not "will smith" like.

Best DC movie so far in the new area.

:lol

Oh and I just found this

No way in hell will JAWS like this, he must be on his summer vacation. :lol

:lol

Not on summer vacation but work has been busy. For whatever reason this and the Star Trek film were 2 movies that I just did not invest any pre movie hype time with. I wanted to see both but could not get excited for either.

Anyways... I liked this more then BvS.... ALl because of the characters... I don't care if the villain's hoards were just a CGI version of the Toxic Avenger.. I really enjoyed most of the characters and their interaction together... That is what will always keep me coming back.

And "Toxic Avenger." Good one JAWS, that's like the 20th random movie people have compared SS to now. :lol

:lol Yep. And the word of mouth can't be that bad, it just set the all time record for Monday in August; $13.5 million besting GotG's $11 million.

I’m in shock at how much love this movie is getting here, this was as bad if not worst than Fantastic Four.
