Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Wait, so you’re telling me that it made sense for Waller to construct her own private team of criminals just in case the next Superman is bad, and it make sense with the team she picked? Enchantress’ entire role wasn’t a plot hole? You didn’t think the fact that Enchantress decided to have a knife/karate fight with the squad at the end wasn’t on par with Doom not using his brain exploding powers on the F4? Are you really telling me characters like Diablo, Croc, Boomerang, and Katana were fleshed out? Or that turning Joker into a plot device for Harley was okay? I mean theres so many more problems with this movie, most of it is the horrible editing but there is so many problems with this movie from beginning to end.

While I agree that the third act was the weak part of the film... I think someone needs to watch Fantastic Four again. SS was much better IMO. I liked the characters.... I can't say the same for F4

:thud: :rock

And "Toxic Avenger." Good one JAWS, that's like the 20th random movie people have compared SS to now. :lol
.

If Khev and JAWS like liked it there is a good chance it's a pretty good movie... If Jye likes it also it will be movie of the year.. FACT!!!

What did a-dev think? If he liked it also we may be talking about the best movie ever. :lol

Now that Toxic is being thrown around...well...that changes things.

Toxic is my favorite shlock comedy from my youth, it also helps that I have a personal connection to it.

Now we're talking.

Looking forward to what you think of the film.

I'll give it to pturtle he's put up a valiant effort deconstructing why this movie is a turd.

But his perfectly good reasons simply can't hold back our overwhelming basic human need to just have

FUN FUN FUN WHILE WATCHING A SUPERHERO MOVIE!

Well, that picture isn't far from what you do see in this movie.

Though calling it "fun" may be pushing it. The first trailer made it look way more fun than the movie actually turned out to be.
The VVitch
SS
BvS

Top flicks of the year. Bank it. Love it. Deal with it.

Civil War
The Shallows
The VVitch
Suicide Squad

Are my Fab Four of 2016.
I haven't seen that many new movies this year, as I think back on it. But Midnight Special was really good. X-Men Apocalypse is probably my favorite, followed closely by Civil War. Witch was a'aight, but as Khev will tell you, We Are Still Here blew it out of the water.

Suicide Squad is the probably biggest missed opportunity in superhero movies yet. With Batman V Superman, it was doomed from the moment Snyder got involved, but Suicide Squad had so much potential.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Ok, sitting for the 10am Imax 3D showing.

As pturtle would say...lets get this **** show on the road! :yess:

See ya in 3 hours.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

But its more than just bad editing, 90% are just thrown in there without any real motivation, the whole concept of the team makes absolutely no sense, characters are way too inconsistent, the movie doesn’t fit in at all within the Snyder-verse and already causes plot holes because of that, numerous plot holes, horrid villain etc…

This movie is truly a bad movie in almost every way. I can’t help but feel if the movie had the same problems but had a darker tone (probably would have benefited from) people would be treating just as bad as BvS.
They showed why they were important for the team-building. You have Harley, who has been mentioned time and time again as to how she can take out many guys. We have Ames telling a dude he's 6'4 and can't take out a "little girl". Or putting "5 of my guards into the hospital". Or what about having a whole **** ton of guards with riot gear to stop Deadshot. Croc needed 2 heavy ass tranqs, and it shows that when Ames says 'was that the new guy', to show that Croc always manages to get someone. Those guys alone can take out many people, and we see during them fighting that they don't mess around. So why wouldn't you want them on your team? Waller is a dumb *****, she's has specific reasons to why she wanted this team. Flag says he can get tier-1 soldiers, and she disregards that. That isn't some filler dialogue, that is your answer. Characters are inconsistent in what way? You say that without giving any specifics. It does fit with the Snyder-verse. You are thinking that meta-humans is the plot difference? A Kentucky senator isn't gonna get the classified intel that Waller has. Lex obtained info from hacking government networks. Meta-humans aren't anything new, but not everyone would know about them. The purpose of Snyder and Superman, is not a meta-human, but a "God".

And as Enchantress, how is she horrid? This is a new take on a villain. We get an extra-dimensional villain, who was worshipped as a God. We know that isn't the case, or how else would she have been taken out by what we can assume is a civilization with no technological power. If miniguns couldn't do **** to the brother, what do you think it took to stop them ages ago?

Wait, so you’re telling me that it made sense for Waller to construct her own private team of criminals just in case the next Superman is bad, and it make sense with the team she picked? Enchantress’ entire role wasn’t a plot hole? You didn’t think the fact that Enchantress decided to have a knife/karate fight with the squad at the end wasn’t on par with Doom not using his brain exploding powers on the F4? She runs a covert government section, why wouldn't she use criminals? It's an idea that has been going on for ages. Hell, gladiators were used for entertainment, made of slaves and criminals. You think they wouldn't use criminals? And these criminals couldn't defeat Superman, but rather would do more than the average soldier or army. As said already, the team made plenty of sense as to why they were chosen. And the team makes sense as to why WB and Ayer chose to go with. The battle had to do that she must confront them. Her brother cannot fight them anymore, and she has to focus time and effort to continue using her powers. And unlike her brother, we know she has different abilities, so if it is teleportation and quick agility, I don't see what's the problem of the knife fight. She isn't a God, that's the whole point, she thinks she was ages ago, but you'd think she could have gone up against Superman? Hell no. Doom was worse because he is super powerful, and I think they overdid it. And so they had to service a fight. Enchantress isn't Doom, and it made sense for them to duke it out. Diablo was fleshed out, but I can agree CB, Croc, and Katana didn't get the service they needed to make this even better. Joker was used for the team dynamic, it wasn't just for Harley. I can go on and on, but I need specifics. :lol

We had some idiot sat behind us who was laughing everytime Harley-Joker was on screen. He just didn't get it and was being a **** about it. Obviously he's only ever known Ledger's Joker.

It was great finally seeing Harley and Joker on screen together.
God, I couldn't stand that. Seriously don't understand why some idiots are born with a mouth. Had one guy say few comments of Batfleck during BvS, but everyone was oohing the whole time, so it drowned out his nonsense. :lol

What a jobber. Reminds me of when I went to see BvS. There were two guys who couldn't stop laughing whenever Batman showed up on screen during an action scene.:dunno
Same here, just don't get why they even open their mouth.

Don't forget that most of that second weekend is tickets bought from Blueberry J, Doc and ZaCH! :lol
:lol :lol :lol :rock

Thinking about buying this Suicide Squad behind the scenes book. Seems pretty interesting.

This alone shows the difference between Ledger and Leto, personally. Love the clown masks, but the suits just didn't do it for me. This is the **** I expect Joker making his guys wear.
