Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

yup, if you ask me I think because superhero fatigue is starting to take a toll, this movie (even from a marketing standpoint) is completely different then most superhero flicks. I think that got the GA's attention spiked. Plus, word of mouth is bigger for this then any movie I can remember opening up in august.

Yep - SS is big! :rock

Well, when you go see the same movie 6 times...:lol

I think it was more that once the word got out that pturtle thought it sucked everyone was all "holy **** this movie MUST be good then" and then scrambled to go out and see it.

Monday night I saw at TV spot that said "pturtle hated it, need we say more" and then low and behold they have a record breaking Tuesday...

While I agree that the third act was the weak part of the film... I think someone needs to watch Fantastic Four again. SS was much better IMO. I liked the characters.... I can't say the same for F4

Okay you liked the characters more, that's fine, so did I, that doesn't mean the movie doesn't have the same problems as F4, actually worse, editing, plot holes, ridiculous nonsensical plot, a horrible 3rd act born from late reshoots, a horrible OP villain that decides to stop using their powers to engage in hand to hand combat, a soundtrack horribly utilized etc.....

You can like the movie more than F4 but you can't tell me these movies don't suffer from the same problems. They're barely movies, they're something cooked up by the studio late in production because the final product was too risky, or deviates way too much from the source material.

That second part was relating to F4 more but all the joker stuff cut late in the game because of his abusive relationship with Harley, the serious, darker tone that WB wanted to change due to the backlash from BvS, Ayer given 6 weeks to write the script in order to make a date.

I mean, even the some of the cast aren't defending the movie :lol

Your argument seems to be that a bowl of poop and a bowl of ice cream are the same because a scooper was used on both. The point is people are enjoying the content of SS in spite of the processing whereas FF was bad from concept through casting, directing, etc.
