Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yeah seriously, these cats here want Kim Kardashian for Pepper Potts. :lol

I remember when Margot was cast some people here were calling her Thunder Thighs. Now she's Olive Oil. This is what happens when we let kids pick their own gender. Crazy times indeed.

I wouldn't have pegged you as a GOTG guy, that's for sure.

Oh I read over this.

Why not? It was a good movie. The use of soundtrack was better, the characters were stronger, the story was tighter and it actually had a heart.

It was a better Suicide Squad than Suicide Squad and a better Star Wars than Force Awakens in my opinion.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

No way! I seem to recall you totally ripping on that one (in amusing fashion no less.) :lol

Man, it's been a dark time for you since 2014 huh? ;) But thanks for answering, I wouldn't have pegged you as a GOTG guy, that's for sure.

I think Guardians is pretty underrated these days, and I don't remember Difabio ripping on DOFP at all.

I was invited to see SS this weekend by a friend who's been in Japan the past couple of weeks...it'll be my third viewing. :D

That's no friend :lol

Blueberry J has to update the board, just came back from number 8 lol. Finally convinced my brother to go on Saturday! :rock

The issue with Leto Joker isn't Leto, but rather people. I cannot stand non-comic readers and then parade acting like they know **** and why a movie sucks, when they have no knowledge. That being sad, we have feminists not wanting a Harley being abused (I've seen worse abuse on TLC), or emotionaless teens thinking this is an epic love story. They should get the **** up and maybe go to a library and read the Odyssey, or ****ing Divine Comedy.

I do also blame it on people comparing live action to live action and not actor to comic. Many are saying why Conroy is acting like he knows in comparison to Bale, when that same exact thing is being compared with Jokers. Batfleck would probably kill Ledger Joker, and the fact he hasn't done so explains a lot about Leto's take. I can go on and on how this Joker is so damn good! Robbie is probably the hottest CB babe for me, and I have a deep love for Hayley Atwell. :lol

Just a quick rant lol.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Awful scene. Got Catwoman vibes from it with the soundtrack, lighting, bad cinematography, the slow mo CGI fall and that ****ing dialogue. Sounds like something Halle Berry and Sharon Stone would say to each other.

This feels like one of those comic book movies that came out in the early 2000s. Not your Raimi Spider-Mans, Batman Begins, Hellboy, or Singer X-Men, I'm talking your Catwoman's, Daredevils and Electras. That goofy dark and gritty vibe. Hell, with it's soundtrack it would fit right in.

I got more of a mid 90's goth film...like one of those Crow sequels or The Craft.

So it's not just me. Maybe the movie as a whole works better but the clips I've seen are like a poor man's Luc Besson.

A movie should stand on its own. I don't see why everyone in the world should read every comic before having an opinion on a movie.

YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTE MADMAN!!!

I've seen it 4 times now, and I'm probably getting close to my limit. Want a nice long wait period until the blu-ray comes out.

I think the film I saw the most in theaters was the 2nd X-men movie. I saw that like 11 times. Granted I was 13 at the time & it came out right as summer break started. Perfect timing I guess.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Jackson did a great job with those given the circumstances, time frame and pressure involved.

I bet Pete, Franny and Phillipa would disagree.

The Hobbit movies were a mistake.

They should have given Pete as much prep time as he was allowed on LOTR. Probably would have had a lot more prosthetics if WB gave them time to actually make them. But seeing Smaug so aswesomely realized was a great "cinematic bucket list" moment and they'll always have that.
