Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

i know the studio wanted to cut scenes but cutting croc and katana scenes seems like a huge waste and a bad choice

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

One thing I forgot to mention was the music. Apart from the song selection (I like "Seven Nation Army" and "Black Skinhead" well enough, but they didn't fit their scenes) they just started playing at random, and then after 30s they stopped... Only to be followed by another 30s track. It really made the film look like a fan-made trailer. You know, that's actually my favourite description. SKWAD is like a youtuber got hold of a couple of movies, sat in his room for about 6 months and then released a fan-film made entirely from edited parts.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I'm honestly kind of sick of cannibal monster Croc. I feel like, if you played your cards right, he could be a very sympathetic character.

I felt like the whole character could've been cut from SS, altogether. He didn't have any character development, whatsoever. All the ****er did was eat people and watch BET.

He was, according to the actor he was supposed to have a bigger role and they were really going to play into him being an outcast. I heard the actor really went in depth with the whole thing too which is a shame because BET is the only thing I really remember about the character :lol

Black Skinhead probably fitted it's scene the best.

Black Skinhead probably fitted it's scene the best.

I kinda get it, but the sounds of the gun totally sidelined the song, plus its duration was so hort, that it served little to no purpose in creating an atmosphere.

Body's fine, the proctetic head's too big.

That was my thought as well. But the apparently undersized body didn't bother me since he's a freak. Looked more interesting than the usual Hollywood muscle body.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Finally watched it today. It's an absolute mess and I have a lot of issues with it, both from a nerd perspective and also from a film critique, but; I did enjoy it.

Captain Boomerang was the absolute stand out, most surprisingly.

Margot was spot on.

Will Smith was solid, albeit playing himself as ever.

Leto; unsure as did not see enough of him.

Real life strongmen lol
Im not expecting real life looks from comic book movies but credibles.
This is not menacing at all and quite embarrassing.
Guys like him and pretty girlz with bats are supposed to stop the next superman?

They could have kept it practical and still beastly.

I thought Gangsta was well played during the HQ scene. I also liked Seven Nation Army, thought that played well.

I have to respectfully disagree, that scene looked like a music video in my opinion, and the song really reinforced that. Even when I looked at the YouTube comments I'm seeing a bunch of teenage girls commenting on Jokers affection for Harley. Just my opinion but I really really didn't like that scene :lol

Wait, is Croc actually a black man in the comics too?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

He looks like it in that particular comic panel, but I think that's from a non canon Joker story.

Ah alright. It's weird that they got a really good actor to play the part and did nothing with the guy. They should've just got a wrestler or something to play the role.

That's from the Joker book. It's not really canon, but in the comics Croc is...was a human born with some kind of genetic condition that gives him certain reptilian traits.

EDIT

Never mind

Yeah, the actor was really good on Oz. Scared the crap out of me in that show.
