Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)
I say that because I Know you hate the videos from the guys from Red Letter media (The ones that made the hour long Star Wars prequels) and those were banned from the Rogue one thread So I was just telling you that this video was not a jokey meme video like the videos those other guys make.
I don't like those RLM type videos being posted in movie threads the first week a film is released because it's such a cheap way to steer the flow of conversation away from what people *individually* thought of a movie. So I don't think they have a part in any movie thread for probably the first 2-3 weeks after release. But if people posted those links in the RO thread now I wouldn't remove them (even if I still think such clips are nothing but stupid self-promoting clickbait.)
As for the intro. yeah the guy was being kinda silly and he was trying to add some crappy humor into his intro but the rest of the video is very technical. I think you should skip the intro and just watch the analysis.
He didn't seem like an idiot, in fact him beginning by praising films like RO and 10 Cloverfield Lane told me he has pretty good taste.

And poor editing does hurt a movie but doesn't necessarily kill it. The editing hurt SS yes (less so in the EE) but not to the tune of the 25% RT score or whatever it got. It never aspired to be a filmmaking masterpiece and I think it succeeded at being a fun collection of intros and action scenes with likable characters (because that's literally all it is, intros and then instant action.

) And I think there's a place for movies like that even if they'll be scoffed at (fairly or unfairly) by critics or whoever else.
Now with that being said I was able to enjoy SS as a fan of silly movies like the original Ghostbusters, The Frighteners, and Escape from LA. And with those three films I just mentioned you've got great, you've got good, and you've got crappy.

And I'd say SS falls somewhere between Frighteners and Escape with regard to quality. So that's what I compare it to. If I actually loved SS's source material and really wanted the movie to be a certain way and it failed miserably then obviously I would have been much harsher on it.
