It's not even an angry video. Calm yo sassy ol' titties, mate. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

The actual video starts at 3 minutes mark, so... yeah, I get what you're sayin. :D

Like Genysis before it BvS will be forever marred by those horrendously spoiler-ific trailers.
Who knows how it would have played had the studio allowed us to see the best parts cold.
It never affects me. I dunno... the whole "spoilers ruined the movie" thing just seems silly. Then again, I watch big movies expectin' them to be good but most of them are bad. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

A 34 minute rant about movie editing? Dude should have hired one himself.

and you guys always make fun that millenials have short attention spams.... for shame :slap

that was am excellent video on editing. It wasn't an Angry rant video, it wasn't a fanboy video. it wasn't a Meme video. it was a technical video. I know you wont watch it.

But I hope everyone else does because the video is very informative. He definitely works in the industry or is studying because his analysis is very good. He is able to talk about the problems of the movie in a serious technical manner

I didn't say it was any of those things. But if you're going to post a 34 minute "informational" video then don't lead off with random shots of BvS intercut with five separate shots of you drinking from a bottle. It just came across as a waste of time. Suck people in *first* then you can get cute with the random stuff.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I really liked that video. He did an excellent job of explaining what was wrong and what was done poorly. I don't usually sit through long videos like that, but he had me hooked for the entire video. Of course, to people that liked SS, none of what he said will matter because Letoker was sooo edgy/cool and Harley's butt was in it a bunch. Doesn't everyone know that editing has nothing to do with a movie being good? Moar Ace Ventura and moar helicopter crashes!

I say that because I Know you hate the videos from the guys from Red Letter media (The ones that made the hour long Star Wars prequels) and those were banned from the Rogue one thread So I was just telling you that this video was not a jokey meme video like the videos those other guys make.

As for the intro. yeah the guy was being kinda silly and he was trying to add some crappy humor into his intro but the rest of the video is very technical. I think you should skip the intro and just watch the analysis.

.

The Red Letter Media guys actually made good points about Rogue One, even if some people don't like the initial jokes.

but Khev banned those so I was just explaining it wasnt like that

(The Red Letter media guys got so much crap for their review that have done TWO follow ups to their initial review addressing the anger to their review :lol )

I don't like those RLM type videos being posted in movie threads the first week a film is released because it's such a cheap way to steer the flow of conversation away from what people *individually* thought of a movie. So I don't think they have a part in any movie thread for probably the first 2-3 weeks after release. But if people posted those links in the RO thread now I wouldn't remove them (even if I still think such clips are nothing but stupid self-promoting clickbait.)

As for the intro. yeah the guy was being kinda silly and he was trying to add some crappy humor into his intro but the rest of the video is very technical. I think you should skip the intro and just watch the analysis.

He didn't seem like an idiot, in fact him beginning by praising films like RO and 10 Cloverfield Lane told me he has pretty good taste. :) And poor editing does hurt a movie but doesn't necessarily kill it. The editing hurt SS yes (less so in the EE) but not to the tune of the 25% RT score or whatever it got. It never aspired to be a filmmaking masterpiece and I think it succeeded at being a fun collection of intros and action scenes with likable characters (because that's literally all it is, intros and then instant action. :lol) And I think there's a place for movies like that even if they'll be scoffed at (fairly or unfairly) by critics or whoever else.

Now with that being said I was able to enjoy SS as a fan of silly movies like the original Ghostbusters, The Frighteners, and Escape from LA. And with those three films I just mentioned you've got great, you've got good, and you've got crappy. :lol And I'd say SS falls somewhere between Frighteners and Escape with regard to quality. So that's what I compare it to. If I actually loved SS's source material and really wanted the movie to be a certain way and it failed miserably then obviously I would have been much harsher on it.
