I gotta a nice shinny number 1 here for you... And it is a steel at $500....:wink1:

Thanks but it doesn't necessarily matter WHICH number I get just so long as it's numbered. :lecture Let's not forget the term "exclusive" should hold it's meaning if they're going to use it on their statues. :wave

Well let's not forget that as long as SSC is the only vender selling THAT version of the statue then It IS "EXCLUSIVE" to them... Exclusive just means the are the only ones who are selling it...lol. I am just haing fun arguing language with you m8 because I do TOTALLY agree with you...:wink1:

But you're absolutely correct. Exclusive has nothing to do with numbering. Only that it's "exclusive" to Sideshow and can be bought no where else. Now Limited would have to do with numbering. However that only means that they stop making them after a certain number and doesn't mean that the number has to be low.

If you're going for rare collectibles things that are mass produced on any level probably aren't the safest bet because production will always go up as the customer base does.

You're better off with original art.

This is why I have to be very selective these days with SS. That's why I didn't rush to PO Sups. I would have loved to PO the Ex droids but missed that boat. Sucks even more because I prefer the clean vs the dirty versions. Not going to give them $40 this time knowing I can't cancel without losing it if the quantity of exclusives is unknown.

Oh I knew I am right ... Heck they even call it the "Sideshow Exclusive Edition" ... I just didn't want to rub it in....lol

Thanks man! I appreciate the encouragement, but I've held out this long without any temptation.

As far as SS definition of "exclusive" Josh is absolutely right and I know that but I miss the days of low ES Ex. It being low gave more incentive for collectors "like me" to go after the ex. Now I could care less. Hence the reason I haven't POed yet. :lecture

I am only the young newbie here and even I think the exclusive eyes ****ing suck. I think I will get the normal version for a discount probably to be safe.

If they change it then I'll just buy the new head direct off sideshow or ebay I think. No problem to me :)

I'll be looking forward to the customs people do to the EX head. I'll also be looking to get my EX head customized by a talented freak here :rock

I have to say this thread has taken an odd turn.

I know I am new here, but I have to chime in on a couple of points.

Superman (and Batman) are Badass! These are Epic statues! At no point were these going to be low run items. It is Supes 75th Anniversary and he has a picture coming out this year! It boggles my mind that anyone would think they wouldn't make as many of these as they could sell. That said, because these are such significant pieces, you better believe you are going to get a quality piece! This is a piece that you will regret not owning of you are not one of the 10k (+) lucky ones. This is a good thing!

You know what makes your lower run collectible more valuable? People that want/value them. Pieces like Supes/Batman bring new collectors into the fold who then appreciate/desire the stuff you have even more.

Such big hits also allow SS to continue delivering the low run stuff with such great quality. You really think there were thousands of people clamoring for an Elvira, Lady Death or Vampirella (all excellent).

A month ago I didn't know what a SS was, the difference between a PF and a Statue, how big a 1/4 was, or that there was a use for an Ikea Besta.

I have been a collector all my life. I buy original comic art, commissions, Rare Golden Age books, but had never bought a statue/PF/Dio/Bust/Comiquette in my life. The only action figures I own(ed) were of the original Star Wars/Battle Star variety and long gone.

This amazing Supes PF changed that. I know I wont hold it for a year most likely, but couldn't wait to get in line and put down a deposit. That feeling has caused me to read up on this hobby and educate myself (I know the issues with Rogue, Spider Woman) and can now say I appreciate the work of Tim Miller.

I have four statues on order, and will be adding 1 HT and 3 more next month. That is why it doesn't matter how many they make. What matters is that the end product is incredible and people that never gave this hobby a second glance become passionate collectors themselves.

People think they'll win the lotto collecting statues :lol

:rotfl remember 90's comic collector's??:lol

Ohh yeah, I remember that like it was yesterday. That was the big crash which made comic worthless. I still wonder what happen? Was it the art that changed? If not what was it? I can see statues heading that way slowly too. Everything is too inflated in price.

I'll LOL at everybody...

I will LAUGH MY *** OFF if they change the Ex head, or if just looks AMAZING in hand, and all the ****ing guys who have stood on their principles and got Regs are scrambling to get an Ex. I know that isn't nice to say, but I still will...LOL

Haha very good:rotfl:rotfl

Honestly, I would get the Ex ... Better to get it now then chase it later. Also, if you hate the Ex head it can stay in the box or you could sell it seperately
