Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

For those looking for higher end BTAS collectibles - Diamond Select showed off some statues of Catwoman, Ivy, Harley and Batgirl, as well as some busts at Toy Fair.

Photos here: Diamond Select Toys DC Comics Statues, Busts and Banks at Toy Fair 2015 - The Toyark - News

Love the statues, but not really interested in Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and Harley. I wonder if they'll be doing other characters.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

This is awesome guess I will check my comic shop in April or so and see if they have the new waves in.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

They seem pretty serious about doing everything. In addition to,

- Catwoman
- Robin
- Joker
- Man-Bat
- Harley
- Batman
- Riddler
- Penguin
- Mad Hatter
- Angry Batman
- Phantasm
- The Batmobile

Once they make,

- Gray Ghost
- Mr. Freeze (Heart of Ice)
- Two-Face
- Clayface
- Killer Croc
- Poison Ivy
- Scarecrow
- The Ventriloquist and Scarface
- Bane
- Baby Doll
- Clock King
- HARDAC Batman
- Trenchcoat/fedora Joker
- Jetpack Joker
- Retro Batman
- Batcycles w/ helmets

And maybe,

Alfred
Bruce
Bullock
Gordon
Keyodi Ken

I'm good to go.

Great list! Agreed!
I also really want a TAS Batgirl, since we never got a decent, true one.

Crazy to think that the only accurate TAS Batgirl was the McDonald's Happy Meal one. :rotfl

Which is actually the one I own. :lol
I display mine a bit separate from the Kenner figures, since she's shorter than the others, but she's there on the shelf. :lol

In his Charlie Brown suit.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

This is exciting. I'd probably double dip for uniformity's sake, but it's worth it. I'm fairly certain that I'm going to come home one day and find Catwoman hobbled, anyway, so, if they revisit them, color me interested. This line, man. Just hearing them address everything we've hoped they'd address, and seeing just how expansive it's going to get. I'm a little nervous for my wallet, but I'm suddenly feeling a resurgence in the enthusiasm I was feeling back in July.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The only thin they can improve at this point is the packaging, with collector friendly boxes like the planet of the apes line from Neca.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I just hope they're not talking out of their ass. That would be a real shame if the Robin, Joker and Man-Bat figures turn out to be breakable pieces of crap.

You could see that actionfigureinsider guy really messing around with Croc, pulling the hands off, moving the arms and legs in crazy directions, testing the ankles. I don't think they'd talk out their ass. The longer Wave 2 is delayed, the better.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Couldn't agree more. Also, I really hope the hip hole thing isn't transitional. They need to just get it out of the way and make sure that Wave 1 gets addressed. It never really bothered me, but it will actually bother me more, knowing that they look totally out of place with the later figures.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

They said future production runs will be rid of the holes and that's how you'll be able to tell it's a new run. They acknowledged how bad they looked on Catwoman and Batman, so I'm sure they're determined to go back and fix wave 1.

Guess that person on the fwoosh wasn't lying when they said that DCC wasn't happy with the pin holes. Makes me wonder how Wave 1 passed inspections.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

We'll know when wave 2 comes out next month. I wonder if those will have the pins? The guy from the video said they were going to make the pins less noticeable...but the Croc figure didn't have any holes, so are they getting rid of the pins or making them less noticeable? Someone should ask them. And if they are getting rid of them...eventually, and wave 2 still has them, are they worth buying then? Even if the ankle issue is fixed.

I'm watching the video now, and he says, "in future waves we'll try to minimize that as much as possible. You'll know that it's a later wave because you'll be able to see that the pins are kind of (he did a quotation mark hand gesture) covered up a little bit better"

Meanwhile, the Croc figure they're holding doesn't have them :lol

I don't know what to think :dunno

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Yeah, I don't get the Dr. Evil quotation thing either. Are they gone or aren't they? How do you "cover them" a bit better? They're either smoothed over (like that Croc sample) or they're not. :lol

They have to be coy and tread carefully though, you wouldn't want to make a promise you can't necessarily keep. We'll see what happens when Wave 2 comes around.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'd wager that they're gone. In the Pixel Dan interview, Kevin Kiniry makes it clear that the wave 4 Batman isn't a production piece, and how he couldn't put him in the Batmobile, so he used the wave 1 Batman, yet they're playing with the wave 3 Croc like it's nobody's business, so, I can only assume that he is a production piece. By extension, you have to factor in that they wouldn't produce wave 3 without wave 2, and I doubt they'd keep the hip holes half way. The thing that I can't believe is how fast these figures are coming. If they set October for wave 5, and the Batmobile, you can only assume that we'll have all the others before then, so, if these are all fixed and we have four series worth of figures to look forward to in an 8 month span, it's an exciting time to be a TAS fan.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm really surprised production samples of Robin, Joker and Man-Bat weren't there. You think one of them would have been their demonstration sample, not a Wave 3 Croc.

I don't see how Wave 5, Phantasm and the Batmobile are going to hit in October. At the current rate, I'd be surprised if Wave 4 (Batman, Riddler, Penguin) makes it to the end of Q4 of 2015, especially after Wave 2 got split into A and B. Their current schedule of output is quite ambitious if they stick to it.

If wave 2 doesn't have the holes, I'll be like...

If they do...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The joints shouldn't be too loose, but they also shouldn't be too...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Wave 2 has three obstacles to overcome,

- cheap plastic with breakable joints
- ugly hip hole pins
- possible midget Robin that is shorter than even the females

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I think Wave 2 figures were not there because they were introduced/displayed at the SDCC 2014 last July, just like Wave 1.

Waves 3, 4 and 5 were the ones announced after the SDCC 2014. So, this year's Toy Fair is their proper debut.
