I'm sure this is not a defect, it is just displayed incorrectly like that. (sometimes when there is not enough time various people help with the display so I guess who ever did that wasn't sure how this should go )

About the figures:

1. Batman looks terrific and dead on.
It's just the shape of the ears that look a bit off; the space between them is a bit wide.
But as a whole, he's perfect. Take my money!
Maybe the one coming with Phantasm will be the best.

2. Riddler is terrific, too. Amazing sculpture.
The grey collar thing is easy to repair. First thing I'll do is paint it black.

3. Penguin is amazing!! So dead on.
If his monocle is indeed clear plastic, we'll just need to paint it white and draw the tiny iris.

4. Phantasm is just the perfect one.
Nothing to repair. Just take my money.

5. Batmobile...... Speechless. Just speechless.
Take all my money.

Yeah, the interior of the Batmobile looks fantastic (those lights!) and I really dig Riddler's game toys. Phantasm has the best sculpt so far. Everything looks very cool.


Still not liking the pin holes though. Maybe they're not going to get rid of them in future waves (Wave 2 production figs are surprisingly absent). I know these are just prototypes for Vendors but they still look bad. Batman's right ankle has already shattered and is hot glued back together. Also, I doubt they fix BTAS Batman's noggin at this stage. The angry version that comes with Phantasm is way better. Glad they made that one. If they both come with the same accessories, I might just pass on single BTAS Batman and get the two pack Phantasm one instead.


EDIT:

The little belts on the seats that clip in are ingenious.

As far as the Batman goes, I'll probably use the regular one for the Batmobile (if they don't change anything) and the Angry one as my "display" Batman. I still kind of hope to see a Batcycle with a helmeted head, at some point, though. I'm betting whether or not we get more vehicles depends on how well this and Roxy sell, though.

Now both ankles are broken. Yesterday it was just that one, now both are hot glued together.



The Batmobile lights are fantastic. Reminds me of the Hot Toys '89 Batmobile, which is high praise.

This line is cool, but I try to steer clear of action figures these days and keep my collection mainly Hot Toys or statues. I am really tempted to get the Batman/Phantasm pack, though, as I just think that movie is not only the best animated Batman film DCWB have ever put out, but also one of the best Batman films overall. I think it's right up there with Batman 89 and Batman Begins. The packaging for that set might be what sways me to get it or not as I think I'd like to keep them in the box. The Batmobile is also very tempting as that design is just so awesome and iconic.

Speaking of Mask of the Phantasm, when is that movie going to get the blu-ray treatment? I have no idea how WB/DC let the 20 year anniversary of the movie and Batman's 75'th anniversary go by last year and not give that film a release on blu-ray with loads of extra features.
