Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm hoping they're in boxes, resealable packaging seems to be the in thing atm and though I'm not really a packaging saver it would be nice to have the option.

what I'd really like is for all the packaging to line up sideways to create a backdrop, maybe even the BTAS logo or something (though with the line being indefinite that would be nigh on impossible)

DCC has been using boxes for a long time, and these will probably use a similar box as the Capullo line, which I'm not a fan of unfortunately. DCC could learn from SH Figuarts when it comes to Packaging. Their (SH Figuarts) figure are the same scale, come loads of accessories, including multiple head sculpts and the boxes are really small, and they look good.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Man Bat's pretty cool looking, but I honestly HATE that we're getting a kinda obscure character before Harley.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

That looks hilarious...LOL This line is dead before it started. $25 for that? Yeah, you can count me out.

Actually, $21 and they all come with some accessories, although I'm not sure what Ivy comes with. The line will do fine as long as the final products look good.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I prefer the BTAS.

About the eye thing, that always struck me too. I interpreted it as a damaged, blind eye. Jonah Hex had the same thing going on in the show.

This makes me want to read a comic where all of Two-Faces goons have been subdued, he's got his pistol at the ready, and you see close-up panels of his eye shifting and surveying the room, althewhile, Batman's literally standing right next to him, and proceeds to knock his ass out.:lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Love the Man-bat. He was one of my favorite Kenner toys from the original line as a kid. I'm thinking this is an early prototype sculpt and they haven't cut in all the articulation just yet.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I can not wait to see what they have displayed at SDCC, and to see pics of these figures up close...

That's what I think as well. Each of the others have multiple articulated points, so it doesn't wash that manbat ( the first 'villain' seen in the series) would be so limited in articulation. Even my Kirby Bat (TMNT) has more articulation than the manbat shown.
Looking forward to this set of figures.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

If they want to preserve the sculpt on man-bat they could do what the marvel select Elektra had years ago and have interchangeable arms and legs for different poses.

I don't think he really needs uber articulation anyway, just put some joints in the wings and I think you could get a range of great poses from him. Good functional artic on a character by character basis is preferable to me than super articulation on characters that don't need it.

I'm more concerned at his standing ability, well all of the figs look like they could have trouble but man bat is especially top heavy. Are all of these gonna come with stands?

EDIT: looking at him again I'm almost certain that his wings arms are going to be sculpted with a bend like this pose

Which I think is better than a sculpted straight arm for him

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

In a Q&A released on their Facebook page this week DCC did state that they're intending to include stands with the animated series figures.

Got a link? I been looking on thier facebook page and nothing...

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Ahh my bad, it was just a link to the Q&A on Facebook, the actual Q&A is on the DC Comics site. Here's the link:

https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2014/05/15/ask-dc-collectibles-facebook-frenzy

The question regarding stands is somewhere near the bottom, but the whole Q&A is actually quite interesting/informative!

Thanks and to think I was gonna have my own stands made for my animated series figures, I guess they saved me the hassle....

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hmmm this is interesting....

Vehicles/Batmobiles—not off the table but nothing to reveal now, sorry.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The Q&A also mentions (if I'm reading it correctly) that their current figure productions feature a new barbel peg for joints that make limbs easy to pop on and off.

That leads me to think that maybe Man-Bat actually will feature swappable arms, especially since these figures are coming loaded with accessories and there's not really anything they could include with him. Except maybe a piece of fruit :lol. But swappable arms would make the perfect accessories for him.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Swappable arms with the extended wings like in the kenner figure would be awesome.

Ha! I knew it. Vehicles are inevitable and they will make a Batmobile eventually, either for this line or based on the comics, but it's inevitable. :yess:

Be nice IF they also made the Arkham Batmobile....

I'm thinking more likely, or at least first, would be the Batmobile from the upcoming Arkham Knight game since the Batmobile in that is being marketed so heavily. After that I could definitely see an animated series Batmobile. Whatever the case, it's gonna be very interesting to see DCC's first foray into vehicles.
