So he got those scars when he was little?
I don't want a timeline on Heath's mystery. That's when the problems start.

But why does he have to be the comic book Joker? This is just one interpretation. Just as Nolan's was. Or Burton's.
Did you see old man Nicholson as being too old to be the Joker in 1989? Or Romero in '66? They were both much older.
When Nicholson and Romero were old, Keaton and West were also much older.
In Joker Bruce Wayne was still a child. Phoenix is already mid-forties, and will be older than either Nicholson or Romero.
In the comics the Batman and the Joker are binary, they define each other. If the film is presenting the actual Joker, when Batman in his prime Joker will be a senior citizen.
It'll be into Old Man Joker territory.

Well who said Bruce Wayne IS Batman in this Joker movie?
That's the kind of mental gymnastics TROS fans are having to employ.
The whole film is a fake. It only used familiar names such as 'Joker', 'Wayne' and 'Gotham' in order to get people to watch it. It's really just the story of one man's insanity. One Flew Over the Penguin's Nest.
It's an Elseworlds tale, but one that leads to a dead end, unless the Phoenoker inspires a younger, more capable Letoker or a Ledgoker from the mob at the end.
Which is probably why the idea of a sequel was put on the back burner.
He?s not 40 he?s 30. All the trauma and stress makes him look old.
That would help with the age gap.
But I find him an unlikable psychopath, unlike Romero, Nicholson or Ledger who all had some appealing characteristics. He isn't funny or cunning, but rather sad and pathetic.
Without the characteristics common to the comic book Joker, the Phoenoker is just a failed clown. An unworthy nemesis for the Batman.
Where've you been a-dev? Now you have to go back and read my entire spiel about the ST delivering on the "long, hard road" promise of ESB.
An unworthy nemesis for the Batman.
There's a Batman?
