Mister Terrific
O.M.A.C.
Hawk And Dove
Blackhawks

Rob Liefeld to plot/write Deathstroke, Hawkman and Grifter starting with issue #9. PUKE.

6 NEW ONGOING TITLES (to replace the cancelled ones) starting in April/May:

BATMAN INCORPORATED – Writer: Grant Morrison. Artist: Chris Burnham. The acclaimed ongoing writer of ACTION COMICS, Grant Morrison, presents a fresh take on BATMAN INCORPORATED, in which the Batman brand is franchised globally in preparation for a major international threat.

EARTH 2 – Writer: James Robinson. Artist: Nicola Scott. The greatest heroes on a parallel Earth, the Justice Society combats threats that will set them on a collision course with other worlds.

WORLDS’ FINEST – Writer: Paul Levitz. Artists: George Perez and Kevin Maguire. Stranded on our world from a parallel reality, Huntress and Power Girl struggle to find their way back to Earth 2. Perez and Maguire will be the artists on alternating story arcs.

DIAL H – Writer: China Miéville. Artist: Mateus Santoluoco. The first ongoing series from acclaimed novelist China Miéville, this is a bold new take on a cult classic concept about the psychological effects on an everyman who accidentally gains powers to become a hero.

G.I. COMBAT – Writer: J.T. Krul. Artist: Ariel Olivetti. Featuring the return of a classic DC Comics series, THE WAR THAT TIME FORGOT, along with rotating back-up stories and creative teams – including THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER, with writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Dan Panosian; and THE HAUNTED TANK, with writer John Arcudi and artist Scott Kolins.

THE RAVAGERS – Writer: Howard Mackie. Artist: Ian Churchill. Spinning off from TEEN TITANS and SUPERBOY, this series finds four superpowered teens on the run and fighting against the organization that wants to turn them into supervillains.

According to what I've read this is supposed to include Talia making a bid for her boy back. They described it as Kramer vs. Kramer with tights. I'm interested in this but it will carry the higher pricetag.

EARTH 2 – Writer: James Robinson. Artist: Nicola Scott. The greatest heroes on a parallel Earth, the Justice Society combats threats that will set them on a collision course with other worlds.

This has serious potential and I know is setting up a crossover sooner than later.

Mildly interested but I think it'll tank.

I'm not too keen on the idea of a WORLD'S FINEST book starring The Huntress & Power Girl instead of Superman & Batman. And I like the Huntress character.

The rest of these new titles sound interesting enough. I'll probably give them all a try.

I want Damian with Grayson, or not at all. Talia can have him.

World's Finest sounds so goofy to me that I'm going to have to pick it up. Has Huntress and Power Girl teamed up before? Seems like an odd pairing. Not only that, but Huntress and Power Girl from alternate reality? Sign me up! So I guess this means Huntress has never existed in the "regular" DCU?

Like Irish said though, not a fan of the title at all. They should have called it something else. Maybe Power Girl and Huntress are the two top dogs of Earth 2? Then the title would make sense, but I still wouldn't like it. :dunno

Power Girl and Huntress are going to be the lynchpins for getting the New Earth characters to interact with the E2 versions, nothing more. The title description suggests that these two are trying to interdimensionally travel, the mysterious hooded woman that has been shown can do that, it's all leading up to that kind of event.

God Liefeld's Deathstroke brings back horrid Image memories:

It pays to have friends who are making the big decisions on creative teams. :dunno

Jim Lee loves him.

I find it ironic that he is working on a character named 'Deathstroke', since everything he draws gets cancelled.

The two things he is most famous for are Cable and Deadpool. and Deadpool was an accident

Liefeld is such an unimaginable hack he actually makes Jim Lee seem worth the hype (maybe that's why Lee wants him around). Jim Lee needs to get hit by a bus.

so, here is my thing:

The original Crisis was to clean up continuity.

Then little by little, it gets confusing again.

Now, they redo New 52, so as to help again with continuity, and to make it easier to attract new readers.

And now, they decide, in less than 6 months to add a "parellel earth" ?

Ditto. I'm starting to feel like I've outgrown DC. Like they're more interested in catering to newer fans.

I just get tired of being addressed like im an idiot.

Just admit, you rebooted so you could sell a fatload of #1 issues. And to not be hampered by continuity.

dont tell me you are cleaning it up to make it easier to jump in, and then almost immediately add alternate earths that just confuse people.

Im 37 yrs old. I collect toys, I play video games, and I help my nephews put their legos together.

but Im not stupid.

At the risk of sounding like a newb to DC Comics website which I am, I couldn't find an option for an annual subscription to DC comics (ie Marvel digital comics).

I take it the only access to these titles is to pay the monthly cost (ie $3.99) for the particular book? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Of the new titles announced aside from Batman Inc I don't see how these books will be huge for DC, I really don't understand what the heck they are doing over there I understand that not every book they publish will be selling like JLA but they still have books that are selling about the same number of copies that the ones that have been cancelled are. And books that are close to that and are only on issue 4 I mean what use is a re-launch if a year into it you're at 26 books from 52 just keep replacing the ones that don't sell with more books that don't sell until something sticks? hawk and dove gets cancelled so they put Rob Leifeild on more books I don't see where the logic is in all of that.

Not just one but all of them, the 52 parallel Earths are back, hell Earth-1 with their angsty Superman and the upcoming Gary Frank/Geoff Johns Batman are fully canonical and they were dodgy about saying whether or not they'd ever interact with our New Earth heroes. The Earth-2 angle was a way to incorporate the JSA without undoing their groundwork in the New 52 without pissing off older fans. I guarantee you that the people who are glaringly missing from New Earth will be in E2 and that something will happen to throw them into our continuity so they can establish the older characters but still have their new modern take on the Silver Age. It's a way to have their cake and eat it too. Reboot the universe? Too much to explain Jay Garrick or Alan Scott so let's just make them from a different dimension.

Wha? I'm shocked to read this from someone who openly bleeds DC Blue. I'm still enjoying the New 52 but I will be honest and say that those 6 were cut long ago and even more were cut that I expect will go by the wayside before year's end.

Exactly. and i still maintain the new 52-6+6 isnt permanent. I still think they will wait and a year or so, find the pieces that people gravitated towards and pluck them out with the little red ridding hood chick, and bring them back to the old 52.

I know, it's hard for me to admit. But lately I'm doubting DC Comics more and more. Don't get me wrong, I still love the characters to death, but I'm starting to get a bad taste in my mouth when I read stuff (from Twitter) "@Comicvine says Kyle Higgins is "delivering with each issue" exactly what readers would want from a Deathstroke comic" So why turn around and eff it up by giving it Liefeld?? Not to mention Hawkman and Grifter - So he can run it into the ground like he did Hawk and Dove? Then Berganza says this:

“It’s great to have Rob contributing to DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 in such a major way,” said Eddie Berganza, DC Entertainment Executive Editor. “Rob’s always been seen as edgy, both within the comic book industry and by his fans. That’s a great vibe to bring to these particular books. We really want to push boundaries, and Rob’s the guy to do it."

Excuse me, but I've never though of Liefeld as "Edgy". Tasteless, untalented, unoriginal, patronizing, Yes - but never Edgy. That's PR bullsh___ if I ever read it.

I'm not remotely impressed by any of the second wave titles either. The more DC tries to be "edgy and new" the more it's starting to feel like early 2000's DC -tired, unoriginal, and uninspired. :monkey2 :gah:

Basically, the leadership wants 1993 Image 2.0 and they're doing their damnedest to shove it down our throats. Jim Lee. Rob Liefeld. Scott Lobdell. With Bob Harras as EIC? Why didn't we see this coming a lot sooner??! Barf.

At least there is still some talent that succeeds in spite of the editorial staff and creative leads. Let's see how long they stick around, though. They just booted Nathan Edmonson (a great up-and-coming writer) off GRIFTER and replaced him with Rob effing Liefeld. The same talentless pile of hackneyed pap who is also now scripting more ongoing books for DC than either Scott Synder or
Jeff Lemire.

Indeed, something's rotten in Denmark.
