Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I hope they do a Talia

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Actually, they did very clearly state which figures were in which wave - and when they are due out in stores too.

I guess you must've been too much in awe of the figures to notice those cards :lol

Well, apparently you didn't go to NYCC in person because Hush and most of those cards were only there on preview night. :nana:

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Series 2 had issues with lack of articulation/extreme posing going on, but man, these look fantastic. Catwoman, and Freeze are my personal favs, though they all look great

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

anybody else think that catwomen's face doesn't look as attractive as the in game model.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Me.

Saw the Robin Mattel figure with the Joker (wtf was that?)

Think I will wait for the DC Direct version.

:lol Alas, no - I couldn't go to NYCC unfortunately. 3310 miles is just a smidge too far for me to travel.....
The fact does remain though that they have clearly stated which figures are in which waves. All that's left for DCD to do now is reveal the rest of the line-up for wave 3, though I don't see that happening for a while yet.

I'm sure the unflattering lighting in that booth along with the unflattering pose have made her look worse off than she actually looks in person.
I bet once you have her in-hand she'll look much better, and certainly a 100x better than that bland looking, 7ft Mattel effort.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

But notice wave 2 has FOUR figures in it. I'm thinking when wave 1 is resolicited it will have four figures now too. Perhaps even lonely o'l Penguin?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I'm presuming the reason they only showed Penguin for wave three is that they either couldn't show the chartacters in it (Ras, Mad Hatter, Nightwing) or that the sculpts weren't quite finished.
If there was to be a fourth figure added to wave 1, I would love for it to be Two-Face since he's not been announced yet, but as much as I'd love to be wrong I get the feeling whenever this wave comes out it's still only going to be 3 figures.

I doubt it'd be Penguin - him being shown is kinda a way to maintain interest in the line. Releasing him early would mean we'd know nothing of wave 3, meaning less interest and less PROFIT.

If wave 1 gets another figure (which I really doubt), it'd most likely be a wave 2 figure brought forward. So, either Catwoman or Riddler. Hush is too obscure, and we've already got a Batman in the wave. Catwoman was kinda expected to be in the first wave, as one of the first characters announces, so it'd probably be her who'd be moved.

But I still reckon it's only gonna be a 3 figure wave.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

My guess is that Two Face is added to Wave 1. Wave 2 as is. Ras, Nightwing and Strange added to Penguin in Wave 3 ... or just Ras and Nightwing with a Batman variant (if they're hellbent on a Batman in every wave ... TDKR Batman is probably too much to ask).

Since Deluxe waves seem to be 2-figures (Croc and Freeze in Wave 1)... add Clayface or Grundy to Deluxe Wave 2 (with Titan Joker). The other in Deluxe Wave 3 ... with those one-armed thugs.

That would leave Strange (if not in 3), Deadshot, Talia, Hatter, Black Mask, Calendar Man and Azrael unproduced ... and maybe Wayne, Gordon, Aaron Cash. Which leaves a couple of additional waves possible.

As much as I would love having Two-Face in wave 1, I think it will stay a 3 figure wave.
I like your suggetions for wave 3 though, Penguin, Ras, Strange & Nightwing would make an excellent wave.
Then they could put Two-Face in wave 4 with a Batman variant and 2 others from either Hatter, Talia, Black Mask or Deadshot. That would make a very solid fourth wave.

As for the deluxe waves, I really hope they add Clayface to wave 2. Then a wave 3 including Grundy and a new Bane would be the icing on the cake!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Just read an old-ish article over on AFI - someone there went to NYCC and managed to get an interview with DCD.
One of his questions was:

Q: The new Arkham City wave 1 has only 3 figures. Will this be the future of DC Direct, 3 figure waves?

A: No. Mr. Freeze was planned for that wave and then moved out.

So this explains why there are only 3 figures in wave 1.
Seems like they must've taken Freeze out after decideing to do deluxe waves to run alongside the regular waves.

Ah, so they just decided to cheap out and make us pay more for Freeze :lol

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Seems that way....
Oh well, at least we're still getting him though, that's the main thing!
He's definitely one of my most anticipated figures, along with Croc and penguin.
I'm also anticipating an official height measurement of Croc and Titan Joker.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

It could've been a different Freeze that was originally intended for Wave 1, which then got biggened-up and improved when they found out they were doing a deluxe wave. Kinda like getting a good but not perfect Bane in Wave 2, then possibly getting an improved deluxe one.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

As much as I love the Bane figure we have from Arkham Asylum, now that DCD have shown us deluxe waves for Arkham City I really want them to do a bigger, deluxe version of him.
I won't be upset if they never do it - but I'd be extremely happy if they did!

Same here.....really, I'd want them to redo the lower part of his body, so he can stand straight and I am happy
