Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ I think they'd have to do a whole new sculpt really. He's quite hunched in his upper body as it is so he would be liable to falling over a lot without a straighter torso.
I can definitely see him being a big seller if they re-made him though so I really hope DCD at least give it some thought!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

OK, I know I must be boring some people with my Mr. Wishfull thinking attitude here at the moment - but I just received my Batman #3 issue, and there's an advertisement in it for the Arkham City series one figures still with a December street date.
Now surely they wouldn't have used that advertisement in this months comics if they know they're going to re-solicit them?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

If I'm not mistaken many magazines and comics are printed months in advance of their actual release. The comic probably was printed before the change in figure release and it is too costly to do a redo just because of an ad.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

All the sites I've seen with the figures up still say they're out December.....so despite the announcement thing, I think they're still out in December....

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

As long as the excellent paint apps are in wave 3, I dont mind a delay. Really glad the 'extreme' poses that plagued wave 2 appear to be gone. I would love Bane 2.0 standing straight up

Just placed an order for wave 1 of Arkham City - looks to be the weakest of all the waves this year.....cannot wait for wave 2 and beyond though. Wish they had done a Gordon as he looked in Arkham Asylum - loved the design. Looks like he is wimper looking in Arkham City

Anyone got any good suggestions as to where to order these from in the UK?

ForbiddenPlanet.co.uk has them, as does Play.com. Forbiddenplanet.com, for some reason, only has Batman up for preorder.

If you want the AA waves, eBay is probably your best bet now.

Well, tomorrow there is a wave of Green Lantern figures that comes out. Those were debuted at Toy Fair, and so was AC Harely. So I suppose it is still possible series 1 could so up next month. I still have my doubts with the whole cancellation annoucement, but since they haven't resolicted yet, maybe they cancelled the cancellation? :dunno

Thanks. Hadn't considered Play. I'm a little put off by the cost of these. I might just get Robin, since we've already got two versions of Batman and a cooler looking Harley from AA.

It is strange how they haven't resolicited these yet so close to their release, especially when we've seen resolicits for other lines already.
Plus the fact we've seen dates for these saying December even after that initial resolicit news could suggest these are still on track.

I'm still curious as to wether the Batman figure is going to have an interchangeable head or not. It's not looking that likely now since we didn't see any evidence at NYCC, but they could still surprise us I suppose....

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I've assumed all along he would have a masked head. It would be very stupid of them not too. They have plenty of Batman variants to choose from, there is no need for them to cop out like that and have an unmasked version just so they can throw in a maksed version later in the line as the Batman figure of that wave.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah there are quite a few variant Batman figures they could make based on alternate costumes - TDKR, BTAS, Earth One, Year One, Batman Beyond....
But I'm really hoping that we get a battle damaged Batman at some point though since he's like that for the majority of the game. We got one as the SDCC exclusive for the Arkham Asylum figures so it's not entirely unlikely we could get one in the Arkham City line.
If this wave one Batman doesn't come with an alternate head it will be disappointing. We need a definitive look Batman figure from the game and surely the best time to release that would be with the first wave....

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Just really interested in Batman and Robin if they come out good. Also Nightwing if they do him down the line...

He's pretty much the Arkham Asylum figure - I cannot see any real differences in the costume with game 1 and 2> Yeah, this is the laziest type of re-release. I would have preferred a full on Bruce Wayne from the beginning of the game mysef

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I'd expect the BD variant to be the SDCC figure just like with AA.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Either that or a Hush variant with scarred Bruce Wayne face. That would be very easy for them to make since it only requires a head swap with minor modifications.
Not sure that would actually sell well though thinking about it....

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Am I the only one who would buy a Talia?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ I'd definitely buy a Talia figure, I love the game design and I really hope they make one.
But saying that, I'd love every character from the game in figure form - I'd buy them all :D

Talia and Ras - awesome set imo. Please tell me a Grundy is in the works for the deluxe line?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah Ras & Talia would make a great set, though unfortunately more likely they will be released separately if they're made.
I would say its very likely we'll see Grundy in an upcoming deluxe wave, and hopefully with Clayface in the same wave too! We really need to get a figure of him, especially since he had quite a large role in the game.
If they don't make him I guess I could always use my Arkham Asylum Joker as a 'Clayface decoy Joker' :lol
