Just picked up the set of 6 at my LCS. If anyone needs the set I canceled my order at BBTS, so they have 1 set of 5 left right now.

I was wondering how is the quality of the Arkham City wave 3 Batman as apposed to the original Arkham Asylum Batman? I'm thinking of getting the AC Batman if it's good as a start to my Arkham collection and slowly build up from there.

Congratulations!
From pics, I would say pretty much as good. Best I can tell, there is a change in color of the suits but that is it.
I don't have any of these guys on figure myself, so I am only assuming.
But they look damn good on the photo's posted by members here.

Ill post a picture of the AC bats later on. Ive got the two thugs back to back looking one way with Batman behind them with both arms out about to smash their heads together for a double take down XD

Just get them all and start with AA series 1. Check out sfa pictures, DCD should pay him for those awesome shots. ^ here's all the Batman that was released from DCD in the Arkham series.

All of the AC Bats have this weird, tiny, right fist. Also I prefer the AA S1 colors to the AC series 3 Bats, as I think its more game accurate. However if you don't have any, the AC series 3 would be way cheaper at this point.

Thanks for the replies people. The truth is, I was hesitant go get the DCD figures because I'm so into 1/6 and perhaps Play Arts is as far as the smallest scale I'd collect nowadays. I have plenty of Batman: The Animated Series figures mint on card, and got an MISB animated Batmobile and Batwing for dirt cheap earlier this year.
I guess I'll start with Wave 3 Batman and decide if I should pursue the line.

Just look at every AC Batman figure;
Its the same mould for all the figures. The fist just look way too small and out of scale especially in hand. And if you look, we got screwed over with Detective mode batman. They re-used Infected batmans mould instead of the promo shot we got showing the electro-gun in the left hand;

Woohooo! My Titan Joker arrived this-morning!
I absolutely love this figure!! He's so massive and heavy and amazingly detailed! I absolutely love that you can fit Batman (or whoever) into his hand too! Here's a few pics:
Here's where he's currently residing on my dio for the moment. Shame he doesn't really belong in there since he's from AA but he's such an awesome figure I'll let him stay there for a little while I think!
