I was watching this figure on Ebay and it disappeared? I can't find a trace of it anywhere...did it get pulled?

Putting together the overall package for the guy who won... lots and lots of packaging of bits and pieces. I almost forgot how many accessories I'd made altogether...

I think for my next figure, I'm going to do something really simple... no accessories. Try to make a figure I can sell comfortably for under $199... yeah, that'd be nice.

At any rate, I've spent a lot of time thinking about how to sell Doc in a way that balances out:

1. getting back out of this figure the ridiculous amount of time, energy and money I've spent making all the friggin' accessories... I may have gone overboard a bit on this one (yeah, understatement, I know)... I spent pretty much all of last year creating Doc and the accessories.:horror

and

2 moving Doc in a way which rewards my friends here who have been repeat buyers and helped me support this hobby of mine... whether by offering all of the pieces in an "a la carte" manner, or by adding it all up and offering a discount. I hadn't wanted to break up the sets, but I do realize how expensive a "complete set, with all the trimmings" is... I went overboard...

After much thought, I think I'm going to figure out who all have helped me the most, and contact them privately with an offer/options to give them first dibs... and then just go down my list.

So... many of you will hear from me in the next few days...

Let me know if any of you have any comments or suggestions. Thanks!

How do you figure? I see alot of people buying figures in the 5-600 dollar range sometimes more with hardly no accessories and not so great sculpts? Heck i seen some heads alone go for about 4-500 bucks that didn't even look the part.I think with the amount of ACCURATE detail to dans accessories along with the head painted, real hair ect. is a work of art and the time it took dan to complete this shows.I'm a big fan of the trilogy and it's all i collect pretty much but to say 1k is definitley pushing it is a bold statement IMO.People are bidding well over that and deservingly so.BTTF is a really popular brand that makes tons of money in anything they release props/toys ect.I know your not knocking the figure but to say 1K is pushing it doesnt really make much sense considering what's being sold around the internet/forums at times.

I would love this figure but 1K is definitely pushing it imho

Admittedly I've spent a lot on figures, but even buying the Batmobile, and other customs never made it past $600.
If there was a way to get the unpainted head with hair added and the outfit, with a few accessories for cheaper, I'd be all over it, or even just the head. But I can't justify a $1000 dollar or over figure on my limited budget.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, it's a nice figure and deserves praise. I just hope there are a few options for those of of us who aren't as fiscally flush as other board members.

Don't people buy rainman figures for $800-$1,000 a pop? What's the fuss with the pricing of dans figure? I just can't grasp the concept that this figure is priced too high with what dan is offering us.Dan is offering an amazing amount of accurate accessories and a great head sculpt to really make this an ultimate figure.I look at everyone's custom figures as a piece of art and a one of a kind RARE special figure. I wish I had the talent like most here to create my own. Please make me understand why this priced too high?

As mentioned before, with the amount of accessories it comes with, the accuracy of the sculpt (w/ rooted hair), the amount that Dan is asking is not outrageous at all. I absolutely can not wait to have this figure in hand and posed next to my Marty McFly!

Yes they do, I however have never bought a full Rainman figure, only the unpainted head and outfits. Then put it together and painted them myself.(Luckily I have a talent for painting) As I said $1000 is out of my price range, congrats to those that can easily afford that price range of figure, but I can't.
If we didn't admire the figure, we wouldn't be asking for a cheaper option, even if we have to do the work ourselves.
I'm glad you feel it's worth it, and can afford it.
I can't, so I'm asking if there is another cheaper option.
If there isn't I just won't be able to purchase it, and will look on with envy at other people's from the web(not for the first time either) but I have a budget and need to stick to it.
In this economy there are many of use who have to watch our funds.
We aren't trying to insult anyone, just looking for options.
