Plasma cutter attached to the machine gun sounds awesome....! At first I was hesitant about this new weapon system, but its starting to sound pretty awesome

Ohh man ! I did the same thing at every corner and turned arround so much. one part I heard a noise behind me turned arround nothing but when I turned forward necro jumped out of the vent. I jumped so high.
the sound design in this game is just unreal. my worst moment in this game was not with a necro, was when my tension was so build up music was getting intense then all went dead. A sense of relief and then a steam pipe burst so loud that it almost made me fall of my chair.

crazy game but so amazing.

:lecture:goodpost: The noises really made DS1 scary even more than the Necros themselves. The clanking of metal, hearing Necros running around in vents or making noises in the background really makes you paranoid.

OH GOD A 7 PANIIIIIC!

Cha Ching! Mediocre at best. Look at the reviews of most sites bud. I don't like to spend 60 on a middle class game. But all of the COD gamers should be happy it kinda bled into dead space and resident evil now! Ok

I've never let reviews stop me from playing a game I was interesting in. That's just silly, imo. I'm going to judge something on my own personal experience, not someone else's.

That said, I'm loving the game so far. Only played about 1 1/2 hours last night, so haven't gotten very far yet. Definitely a couple moments that made me jump...one when I was killing 2 Necros in front of me and then realized one was right behind me. I don't know how people can play this game on the hardest level...:lol I don't know if I could ever accomplish that feat.

I'm finding the Necros a lot harder to kill this time around. Could be because I haven't been able to fully upgrade my plasma cutter yet...but it's taking way more shots to cut off limbs and damn do they move fast now. I'm using stasis on them way more than I ever did in 1 and 2. Freaks me out when they come sprinting at me. :lol

I Dont let Ign stop me from playing a video game. I just got the game yesterday and its a good add on to the series. Havent beat it but the scares are there and the combat is the same as always. Dont know whats the problem.

I would just say its a rental for you - just cause others didn't like it, doesn't mean you wont...

Ambience is everything. :clap

I've got some friends who say they don't really care. Of course, they also don't have surround sound at their homes, so I'm not really surprised. :)

These Necros are so ****ing fast! Their up on you and your dead in no time on Impossible difficulty. I've found the line gun with a force gun attachment works well though.

LOL, You gotta love Amazon.......

For those that have/are playing this, how does the difficulty setting compare to DS1 and DS2? Is the mode you chose similar in diffculty to the prior games or is it easier? Trying to see if I need to play on a harder setting

I'm playing on normal right now, mainly because I want to get through to New Game+ and Classic mode.

I feel it's the most difficult of the three thus far, mainly because of the enemy type. Having to fight soldiers and Necromorphs really can drain the health. I was at full health on Normal in DS2 and the majority of DS1, but I'm going solid with about 2/3 of health throughout the game. Weapons feel weaker too. Hoping Classic mode makes everything feel a little better.

I spen't $99 on the hunter edition of AVP and the game got terrible reviews. You know what It is one of my favorite multiplayer experiences ever. Reviews don't mean ****. Out of every person that believes the game is medicore their will be another person thinking it is the greatest game on earth. So rather than dismissing the game give it a try or stfu about it. We get it you didn't like the demo or whatever they did to the game that you have yet to play. Rent it play it then call it a medicore game at best if that is what you still believe.

Coming from Zealot in DS2 and playing Impossible in this game I think this time around it's more difficult. The necromorphs deal a huge amount of damage and they're a lot quicker than before. They close the gap so fast. They also barely flinch. I find that you get a lot of ammo and med packs in the beginning but that might be because your weapons barely dish out any damage at first so you get some room to breathe.

It can even get really tough on co-op.

I work at kotaku. And this game is VERY different for a dead space game. It's a great shooter/bad dead space game. So far 14 out of 19 of us gave it a NO. Wait until you see the next game and what they do with it. While being in the video game industry for a little while. I do respect when many people have the same consensus on the subject. That's all:wink1:

I did not know that....cool

Thanks on the feedback of the difficulty guys!!! Ok, received Dead Space 3 today from Amazon - downloaded the two disk game to HH, downloaded the limited edition season pass, and downloaded the Amazon preorder weapon...only thing stopping me now: family watching Modern Family on the TV...don't they know I have a planet to save!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

Weird Glitch mild spoilers -
In issac's apt, leave and re-enter - there will be an item on his bed each time.
Seems to be a health pack/ammo type glitch that can be done endlessly

Just started chapter 5. I'm finding this game more difficult than the previous 2.

Personally, I'm not getting the complaints that this isn't a good DS game. I'm playing it in the dark with surround sound..and it's making me jump. I'm slowly entering rooms/hallways to get a good look at my surroundings. Constantly looking behind me....nothing more frightening than entering a tight space and having 3 necros jump out and having them on you in a few seconds time.

Really enjoying this game so far and I think it's a great addition to the trilogy.
