Just received my early access demo code, downloading now and will play it soon!

Awesome demo, a nice mix of action, tension and horror all in a great atmosphere.

It felt like if the world of The Thing and Aliens had a baby, this would be it.

If the rest of the game is as great as the demo is, it could very well be the best Dead Space yet.

There are definitely moments in DS1 and 2 that made me jump. But for horror, RE4 is the game that scared me the most....when the chainsaw guy first made an appearance..I totally freaked out.

Sounds good. I wont be able to play the demo until it's regular release so hopefully more people will give their impressions.

SH2 is the pinnacle of scariness in games I reckon, nothing comes close.

This is exactly what it's been described as since DS1. Glad to hear it has the same feel.

DS1 = Alien (Tight corridors in a small ship floating in space)
DS2 = Aliens (More action, more Necros in a larger space station)
DS3 = The Thing? (Independant Colony in the middle of an ice planet and not knowing who you can trust)

I never found RE4 scary. Intense and even creepy at times but not scary. I agree the beginning of RE4 when you go into the village and are being chased by the Los Gandos and you barricade yourself inside the house only to hear Dr. Salvador's chainsaw rev up was definitely a tense moment. I still say the scariest RE game is REmake.

As for the Dead Space series, DS1 made me jump out of my seat through the entire game. Something only Jaws has ever made me do when I first saw it at age 5. I was genuinely nervous my first play through not knowing if a Necro was behind me or gonna jump out of a vent in front of me or what. Not to mention the noises really ramped up the tension. DS2 had a only a few moments that made me jump but not nearly as many as DS1 (probably cause I overplayed DS1 a bit so I knew what to expect).

I don't know; I would say both made me jump out my seat. With DS2 though, I panic a lot after the scare! :lol

I always thought there was a bit of an Event Horizon-ish vibe to DS as well.

Like I said, I think I overplayed DS1 so when I played DS2, I knew what to expect so the scares weren't really there for me. Don't get me wrong, I love DS2 and it has some intense and creepy moments (I think the whole Nursery area is probably the creepiest area in the series) but I didn't have that sense of dread and paranoia like I felt with the first one.

played for 2 minutes ! part 1

my god runing away from the first necromorph to the elevator with no gun!

**** ME ! dam this game has some tight spots.
cranked all the graphics on pc. wow looks amazing but the control with the mouse is so bad.
sucks how pc gets all the bad controls now because of the console ports.
got to find a tweak how to fix the controls.

If you signed up (at least on the 360 there was an ad), they e-mailed codes today to download it. It goes public for all platforms next week as far as I heard.

I haven't played that yet...nor do I remember hearing about it. Does it take place after the events of DS2?
