I haven't played the demo yet - but I gotta agree - the idea of the necromorphs with guns is pretty lame. I don't mind if it's Unitology members/military...but monsters with guns = overkill....hell they already spit acid (or whatever it is) at you, run like crazy, have blade like appendages...that's more than enough, imo.

I may be the only one not minding Necros with guns....just seems like something an intelligent alien parasite thingee would do

Dead Space 3 twice as long as DS1&2? Yes, says producer:

Once they start learning to take cover and throwing grenades this might as well be Gears in Space. :lol

I guess they are trying to be more like Mass Effect...which is too bad in a way because I really liked Dead Space the way it was....but I am still excited to play this game and will hold off judgment until I have finished it.

Played about half of the demo and not sure what the fuss is about about the scares. The atmosphere is there and the whole people with guns dont bother me. Scared the crap outta me. Whens plays arts Issac coming out?

Same here!

I was actually worried based on DS2 that DS3 would be too actiony....the demo at least proved me wrong, I felt the atmosphere was great, bringing back the eerie from DS1. We'll have to see how much of the final game is like that though.

As for the necromorphs with guns, I don't recall exactly, but didn't a "flood" type creature infest the dead humans who were laying on the ground holding their weapons? So when the flood type necromorph took over their body, they just used their weapons. I don't have issue with that.

If the necromorphs however start walking around and picking up weapons off the map, then it becomes an issue.

Ehh, I think even if the story is done to include it and make it blend in, it doesn't really excuse changing a notable part of the established gameplay, especially when it was always part of the game's USP.

I will be curious what you think once you've played the demo! My mother is in town visiting, so my xbox time is really really limited during week!!!! Darn you quality family time!!!!

 Damn it. I must have jinxed myself bragging in the other thread how I still have my first 360 console. I was downloading the demo for this and it froze about 1/2 way through. Now my console freezes up when I go to turn it on. Anyone else ever have a problem like this?

Oh blasted hell...get the red rings now. :( It would die on me when the new console is supposed to hit shelves later this year. Ugh

And now it's working again....but for how long who knows. :lol

I'm going to try to play the demo now and see if it craps out on me again.

Well hell..that didn't last long. :lol I was at least able to finish downloading the demo before it froze up again. Guess it's time for a new Xbox.

I may just try and get it fixed. There is a business not too far from where I live that can fix it for $45. Worth checking into...especially since they say on their website they can fix it the same day.
