It also has to do with today's 'Murica being overprotective and whiny, you can't blame Hollywood producers for the social mood of modern population. I expect nothing but PG13.

If it happens, blame Disney so they can sell plush DPs with Mickey ears, not America. That's just really, really, really lame.
Sits right up there with "Hollywood is out of ideas" on the shelf of silly cliches people think are real.

I don't know about that. I always look at wrestling since it seems to be a good barometer of the culture, and the WWF/E is a "pg" show for kids and families, and very different from what it was in the mid/late 90's and early 2000's. Now, they can't do anything without someone getting "offended" and going on twitter and the social media to boycott and complain.

Look at DC Comics, they couldn't publish this comic cover because a bunch of "feminists" and people were offended by the artwork because it wasn't appropriate...even though the character is a villain and he's not supposed to be appropriate :lol

well, I guess this is less offensive.

Goes to show you never bothered understanding how people had legitimate concerns about it, and seemingly don't care.

But at the risk of having another thread locked over this stupid story, if you want to blame America (whatever that means) for Deadpool being watered down, cool.

Well, that cover was indeed inappropriate because it doesn't fit into comic's bright and childish mood.
Still, it's just a variant cover - nothing to be offended by or yell about.
But yeah, artist got a lot of stupid hate and publisher pulled the cover off.

And this was just a comic book, now imagine same thing happening to a big budget CB movie...
PG13 at max.

rated R movies should be banned to be honest. there is no need for them... thankfully studios are waking up to this truth.
i predict in the next 15 years rated r movies will stop existing (Thank God)

.....Oh, dear God. It's just getting ridiculous now. :lol

Anyway, the point was made that an R rated CBM won't do well commercially based on the failure of some others. My point was that the ones that failed did so because they were poorly produced versions, not because of the rating.

Anyone care to go down that path, rather than the time-worn barroom grandstanding about how everything is PC, especially when it doesn't seem that's part of this particular movie and its production?

But.
But.

I was led to believe America sucks and would fill its collective baby diaper over this.
