Absolutely... the SSC version suit is way off and bulky, but I couldn't pass. :) I'll get this version as well.

you know how batman begins revolutionized comic movies
how x men showed the world comics can be taken seriously

how marvel revolutionized the industry again by making an universe?

i really hope this one makes an industry wide impact on comic outfit accuracy and on source accuracy (as well as starting to make studios give smaller characters more movies)

there is a lot riding on this movie... it better not suck

if it does really well it might influence comic movies the way batman begins does, im serious (but it has to make like 4 times its budget)

If it's good, it'll probably make more than that. The budget is only 50 million, I can see this movie doing about 300-400 million worldwide.

I just hope this will lead to an R rated Wolverine film.

I know it will make money,
I was talking about making an impact on the industry. I hope it makes something like 700 million..... at least. Like you said about an R Rated Wolverine, the only way that could happen is if the studio sees deadpool making something like 700

I don't know if it will, the Nolan films had such an impact because it appealed to a large demographic. Pretty much anyone from 13 years old and up could enjoy those movies. The MCU works because it appeals to comic book geeks of all ages (most of them are in their 40s now), and children. For Deadpool to work, I think they have to really push it as a comedy. R rated comedies these days have been making huge money on small budgets. I'm sure Fox would be satisfied if this movie and hopefully sequels are as successful as the 21 Jump Street series.

Also, Hugh Jackman should totally have a cameo, maybe doing something pretty violent to sort of ease us in and pave the way for future Wolverine films.

There's not a lot riding on this movie, Deadpool isn't a small character, it's very popular, right now it's got 2 series on Marvel Now I think, that's 1 more than Inhumans, 1 more than Cap marvel and 2 more than Black Panther :lol

Besides it's not the 1st character to wear a comic accurate costume, Amazing Spiderman 2 already did it, Batman and Superman have already done it.

I don't think this will start a new trend in CBM besides starting a Deadpool franchise if this is successful.

Don't jinx it dammit :cuss :lol

he is small to the general public, most people dont know who he is (just like guardians of the galaxy)
the advertising and the online hype might make this the next Guardians as far as how big it gets goes

He's much bigger than Guardians was at the time their movie hit. Kids wear Deadpool merchandise, he's been in the cartoon and had a videogame, etc. My little cousin is a Deadpool fanatic, but didn't know jack about GOTG until the movie.

Regarding the "mass public," they won't know much about him, but frankly they didn't know anything about Iron Man before his movie, either.

The thing is, Marvel does a far better job in their marketing campaigns than Fox, they will turn anything into kewl mainstreamz, with such a small budget I doubt Deadpool will reach as much as GOTG, even if DP is the bigger franchise (or was).

I would love if they did a Carl's Jr ad with Deadpool parodying the one with Quick Silver :lol

I actually blame the marketing of the F4 and X-Men films on the actors. With the exception of Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ryan Reynolds, none of the actors seem to show love for the characters they play, and only seem to promote these films when the movie is about a month away or so.

Maybe it's because in the MCU they're pretty much always shooting a movie, but almost everyone goes out of their way to show the fans how much they enjoy being apart of these movies, even if they really don't. Just look at what Chris Pratt and Chis Evans recently did with their Super Bowl bet, or Downey giving away the Iron Man prosthetic to the little boy, you don't see any of the from the FoX-Men guys. The MCU actors keep themselves relevant through social media, Other than Jackman and Reynolds idk if anyone else even has a Twitter account.

I'm hoping once the FoX-Men universe starts to expand, the actors start showing more interest to get the fans on board. I personally only care whether an actor gives a good performance, but I know for a lot of the comic book guys like for these actors to be just as passionate about these characters as they are.
