Re: DISNEY / FOX Deal Close! Thread Still Open! Please Come In!
First of all, I am still holding my breath on this one. The Trump administration might not like a merger like this and might feel like this will create antitrust issues.

But if Disney does (hopefully) acquire Fox, I don't see Feige wanting any of that Fox garbage in his MCU. He is going to reboot X-Men and FF, but with that Deadpool box office, they have a big decision to make there. By the time this sale would go through, Deadpool 2, New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released. Say DP2 does another billion, it is going to be tough to pass on a DP3 and another billion. If you acknowledge DP, then you acknowledge the previous X-Men movies. Tough call on a DP3, but I say Bob Iger stays with no rated-R movies.
But going forward, FF is the big deal IMO. They complement the spacefaring initiative that Marvel is headed towards, bring in the best baddie in all of Marvel and compliment all other heroes with their tech including the Baxter Building. With the X-Men, it would make sense that Xavier is doing a boarding/private school and is able to identify mutants quickly and teach them in secret at his school. Magento would get tired of hiding and force mankind to embrace mutants. I would like to see a middle-aged Magneto and Xavier. Tired of the elderly approach to them and have Magneto look bad*** with long, white flowing hair. Cyclops should not be some douche-bag either. He is the leader and they need to treat him like one. The rosters always seemed to be awful in each movie and rarely, if at all, embraced the spirit of each character. Having Wolverine and Sabertooth not recognize each other in the first X-Men pretty much set it off in that direction. **** Singer and Fox don't understand neither content nor fan base. Beast has got to be in there day one and be CG.
Got to imagine Feige has already been in the ear of Bob Iger, stating that they must get these rights back. The merchandising, movies, etc. will pay off significantly short and long-term. Even though Marvel IMO has been hit and miss with their movies, they still capture the spirit of the character and ground the universe they are in with great oversight by Feige.
