He wrote scripts for 7-8-9? I don't believe that. Sounds like the same kind of nonsense when Lucas started saying everything was planned from the beginning. A script is a very complicated instrument. I believe he may have notes or a treatment/outline... but I doubt he has a true script. Maybe a kind of Bible guideline to pass on to the new owners.

Maybe some kind of rough draft. He had stuff written for Episodes 1-3 after the OT was finished, it was more like a novel than a book though and the final result was much different than what he originally wrote.

That's why I'm saying not to worry, whatever he already came up with isn't what they're going with, and they're already talking to writers about the project. I would imagine his involvement would be more like his involvement with the books, just approving things that they might want to do with the story if it's something serious.

He probably had an outline or loose collection of ideas for 7,8, and 9. I highly doubt there were fully developed scripts.

Kurtz said George threw away the original story for ep.6 I wonder if the original plan for a 3rd trilogy could even be used.

Does he still even have "approval" if Disney owns Lucasefilm? Is it just a courtesy at this point or does Lucas truly retain some control/influence on further Star Wars projects?

Not sure if they're full scripts or not, but he supposedly started to finish them after Red Tails.

George describes himself as a 'consultant', which means Disney can pat him on the head and tell him to f-ck off if they want to.

As someone who enjoys SW from a casual fan perspective I look forward to 7-9 and any other movies they make. If I was Lucas though I'd be happier than hell to ditch the crazies of the SW world on Disney. :lol

I know, going forward its gonna be our new mantra, "Disney raped our childhood'

I wouldn't go that far yet. He'll still have some say unless they buy him out completely or he sells off....

Lucas, who will be a creative consultant on “Star Wars” films, receives about 40 million Disney shares, becoming the second-largest non-institutional shareholder with about 2.2 percent of the company, data (DIS) compiled by Bloomberg show

As far as I am concerned a "just okay" Episode VII is better than NO episode VII. Bring it on.

I agree, I'm OK with it even if it turns out to be terrible except for the FX.
:exactly: The best part about star wars has always been the FX

Sounds like they are most likely going with his scripts/plan for the next 3 films. That would explain the quick turnaround.
