^^ This. We actually discussed this on Facebook. One truly has to be selfish in order to be a part of a successful relationship.

'Selfish' has become a catch-all for unpleasant character traits which are usually the result of low self-esteem.
I always took selfish to mean that you care only for yourself and you care nothing for others.
I love my "being", but I can't say that I totally love my physical self. I'm working at embrassing my uniqueness though.
