Pretty good movie. I actually saw it in IMAX 3D and the visuals were fantastic. I loved the mirror effect and when he first has his out of body experience when he visits the temple. The 3D was really well done. I thought the beginning was a little rushed and Rachel McAdams was a little pointless for the love interest with what little they gave her, but it was pretty good. A lot of the rules about the dimensions and worlds didn't make a whole lot of sense, but hey, it's magic. I thought Benedict Cumberbatch was great as Strange and I've never really been a fan of him as an actor or a fan of his movies. Also loved the green time stopping and reversing scenes where they played with the people and the environment. I was surprised they showed that one Hong Kong civilian with their head and face smashed into the pavement before reversing them back through the windshield and into the car.

Good movie, 4/10

Are you parodying me and my very strict and sophisticated filter?

Or SKNIT's generous one?

Will see it monday.

I've heard it's just same ol' same ol' but that it's pretty to look at, don't think I'll be as harsh on it as DiFabio.

I think Batman Begins did the origin better, but the acting in DS was good. The 3D did nothing for me, but overall it was pretty good, imo. The final battle reminded me of Matrix Revolutions.

Well, 3D never does anything except cost extra. I've heard the acting's good a lot.

I've also heard that the action is dumb videogame action and a waste of """magic""", but I think it's a good thing I heard that, it tempered my expectations. I was expecting an out of the box multiple-views-required mind**** from of this one, but I've been told it's Marvel usual movie just with a """magic""" skin pack.

Can't be worse than Thor movies.

I think it's better than Thor, but it's not a mind pug. I think Inception was wayyy more of a mind pug, even though this one goes far beyond Inception when it comes to the city manipulation, but it's just that...manipulating the environment and they make it very clear and simple to understand.

Yeah I saw a clip of them jumping on buildings and punching each other with "magic" and Strange using a WW lasso and that's when I realized magic don't mean **** and it's just there to swallow the budget of this movie :lol

There's nothing cerebral or complex about it. Its safe cookie-cutter formula, blatantly aimed at young audiences. Sadly, the Harry Potter movies are masterpieces compared to this movie. Masterpieces.

Can't be worse than Thor movies.

Branagh's THOR (2011) is a better movie. Doctor Strange is slightly better than Thor: TDW, which ain't saying much.

*With Feige at the helm hiring journeyman directors, the chances of these films being something special are minimal.

Gunn and The Russos somehow pulled off great films despite Feige's safe tone demands, but at this point GOTG & TWS seem like flukes. Even Whedon couldn't get AOU past said demands.

The only MCU film I'm still confident in at this point is BLACK PANTHER. Coogler has a very passionate and strong personality. He's a tough dude. I see Feige struggling to neuter and censor him (then again Feige could always do that in post like with TIH). We'll see.

They didn't use magic much, in a sense of verbal spells, but more of a concentration. And of course magic also came from object such as the cape and the amulet. Would be nice if they use more wordy spells.

What is strange is how one of the master got a missing hand and yet still can perform magic but strange uses his hand to rotate time on the apple. But maybe still, it is not required as he return again and again, even after death, near the end scene.
