William Shatners Toupee
Super Freak
A few of you are working on the clothes angle trying to come up with something, and I'll keep everyone appraised of everyone elses progress. The one drawback to getting the Doctor Who heads made is that the show is sci-fi and MOST costumes are not going to be able to be kit bashed from other sets like you could a modern day figure from loose part sites. Pats outfit could probably be bashed. Jamies outfit could be bashed, but Toms? No way!
Characters like the Jagaroth from City of Death suddenly become appealling to get made as heads because it's like "Oooh, all I need to do is buy a white Scarface suit and he'll be done!!!" (laugh).
Here's a few rules of thumb though I've found for getting outlandish sci-fi clothes made for figures:
1) BUY YOUR OWN MATERIAL
You can show the person sewing the costume pictures of the costume you want made, thinking, "Hey, they're a professional, they'll pick the right material, they have a picture right in front of them," then, for some reason they bought some kind that looked like felt! What? This happened to my 9" Nyssa I had made. Costume was sewn beautiful... but it looked like felt.
So, when you can, go try and find the right stuff yourself, even if it's for a project aways away. When you see the right stuff, grab it then!
2) PANTS ARE PANTS ARE PANTS
Several sites sew pants or clothes like PROJECT ARE. It's all off a generic pattern and in the end, pants are pants are pants. If some site sews pants and you bought the material , and they will let you send it to them, badda bing! Pants done!
The price for the heads all depends on how many we get to sign up since the cost of commissioning is all getting divided up, but honestly, I'd say worst case scenario is $35, with the intention of it actually being lower as more jump on?
