No better place than Doctor Who.... (thinks of Leela and the Nyssa in nothing but their knickers episodes) :lol

There's nothing wrong with a bit of eye candy by any means but a decent story should always be the first priority.

So I guess we can look forward to a smug middle class Doctor who strolls around London falling in love...

Let's not forget he's also half the team responsible for Black Adder. He's obviously capable of writing multiple genres with dichotomous tones, and writing them well. I'm sure we'll get something great.

Oh don't get me wrong, he WAS a good comedy writer once, in the same way as McCartney WAS a genius... but sadly age and notoriety seldom improve the work of those that produce our 'popular culture'... tis a job best left to the youth.

That’s not to say the older amongst us (of which I count myself) can't produce great art, but it's rare that it has the urgency or inventiveness... 'that punk attitude' if you will, when compared to that produced by young hungry people.

I know there are exceptions (The Flaming Lips for example Marc), but as a generalisation, it's a sad truism!

I spelt out my feelings for Curtis in the opening blurb for my Mr Bean review

I think there's a lot of truth in that, but the other writers have at times displayed a Baldrick like incompetence in recent years so I would hope Mr Curtis turns back the clock for his Doctor Who episodes.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes......

Well... read at your own peril. This is not good news IMO.

According to todays South Wales Evening Post (this also being a front cover story) that Billie Piper was seen at Neath Abbey yesterday filming scenes with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan! According to the paper she was wearing a floral dress and started filming early at 8am,wonder if this was the person reported being smuggled into the filming under a blanket/cover earlier in another thread.

Anyone know if the South Wales Evening Post is a tabloid or is it real news?

No idea but if that info is true then all I have to say is =

That characters story is DONE.

Agreed. I have no desire to see that character Back. At all.

I really hope its just one of those moments that someone spots someone with that color of hair at filming and jump to conclusions.

It's certainly happened before. There was an extra during the filming of last year's finale who somewhat resembled Christopher Eccleston that caused a bit of a flap so hopefully it's just another one of those incidents.

Maybe she'll be playing someone else...

But I agree...no more HER, she's done...

It's a she? And her story is "done."? BCM busts out the rolleyes? I think I can guess who we're talking about without clicking on Pix's spoiler. Though, I disagree that her story is done, it's just done in the prime universe.

But if she were to come back, it would just be wrong. I'm thinking, if we're talking about the same character here, that it will be nothing more than a quick run-in with 11. Like 11 sees her in the past, but doesn't necessarily approach her, and he has to deal with whatever feelings his new personality will throw at him.

If that's the way it happens, then okay. If they make an entire story out of it, then, well...

Interesting pic from todays filming features Matt Smith in Ten's pin stripe pants and the tips of his white converse. Apparently they are just filming episode 1 of the new series.

I just rewatched Silence in the Library/Forest of Dead and I realized how much I wish the fellow who played Doctor Moon would have been announced as Ten's successor and last night I realized why: he had a Pertwee-esque air about him. Refined and mysterious.

Those episodes aired during the run of 4 episodes that I purposely didn't watch in series 4 so I don't know whom you're referring to. What was the actors name?

As for actors with a Pertwee-esque air this chap would have been my choice for the 11th Doctor ;)

I think the Doctor works better when he's played by an older actor and if anybody knows anything about what makes a good Doctor it's got to be the son of one of the best ever.
